It’s just like a Relationship, if that Employer wanted to hire at all, or in the future you would know, if you have to guess that means they DONT. At least currently they don’t, the county after you filled out the application they may not call you from 3 to 6 months. I have followed up with phone calls etc. I find it’s a waste of time . They ignore me, it lowers my self-esteem to beg for a job, and my value as an employee too. I just continue to keep Applying for other jobs and if I get an offer that I like I go with that employer.

I have been waiting 6 months to be hired for a position in the waste management field. The owner keeps telling me to hold on which I keep doing. Glad I have a job currently. Its hard to understand why hiring takes as long as it does. But you are at their mercy when changing jobs or careers. Its not easy.

I had three interviews with the same company and they all went very well. The last interview was with the president and it seemed that it went very well. He said that the hiring recruiter will be in touch with you in a week. Never heard back.

I applied for a job in early March. Two weeks later I got a call from the HR department for a quick interview and to answer some questions. The job calls for a masters degree and a lot of experience. At the end of the interview, she said this is a full time position that pays 17.00 per hour. I had to stop myself from laughing. They want a masters degree and a ton of experience and only pay 17.00 per hour. Wow. But, I still wanted to meet the senior curator to get my face and name in front of her, so I said I would like to keep my application in. I was contacted a week later to do a zoom interview with the senior curator and another director. The interview was really good and we even ran over the allotted time. The senior curator told me I was eloquent, and that she really appreciated how our interview was more like a conversation than an interview. We connected. At the end of the call, she told me they had one more person to interview and that they would be in touch with me within one week to either tell me I was rejected or that they would like to set up an in person interview and tour the museum. It’s been two weeks now, and I haven’t been rejected or accepted. I have not heard a peep. Only silence. I’m not sure what’s going on, but my guess is they realized the pay range is way too low for what they are asking for. I just wonder if they will get back to me or just ghost me.

Why do some people hear back from jobs quicker than other people? Is it based on experience, qualifications, resume size, etc?

Currently going on the wait train for Pfizer and other pharmaceutical companies. It is very stressful to break the glass sealing and make it into pharma. I hope I get it soon!

I had a phone interview and it went really well! Then the recruiter for property management called the same day to do a interview face to face. It was with the regional manager and property manager. The interview went really well! We negotiated pay and I was offered the job during the interview. Well the recruiter emailed me saying the hiring managers would like to move forward with a reference check. This was Thursday 4/7. On Friday 4/8 I left a voicemail and an email to touch base. It's now Monday 4/11. I know it hasn't been long but I'm kinda anxious due to them offering me the job and talking about scheduling a drug test, background check etc. Should I wait for them to call me?

Not this 4% in 1 day, 37% in 1 week and 44% in 2 weeks rubbish. So, only an additional 7% of people hear in the 2nd week then?

I applied to a company, a director, not recruiter reached out to me and we spoke over the phone. We had a great conversation and I emailed her and said that it was great to speak with her. During our phone conversation she said she will speak to the hiring manager for the position I was interested in and also the other position she thought I was good for, but she hasn’t followed up with me yet so I can have an interview with the hiring managers. Tomorrow will be one week. What should I do?

I got a reply the next day from a hotel company, applying for front office agent. During the interview there was the hr, hotel manager and the front office manager. The manager informed me he is keen to offer and ask the hr how long will it take and the hr said 1 week. May I know the reason for that 1 week? They requested for my certifications and id and all documents have been sent before the interview. Normally companies would ask the documents only if they are ready to hire and pass the final interview. But one thing good they were very positive and it’s a good vibe. Just that the hr said will let me know the result of the interview in 1 week so I’m waiting currently.
