6 Signs You Have a Growth Mindset

A growth mindset explains talent as a work-in-progress, which opens the door for change and progress. For example, a student with a growth mindset will study for their test because they know they’re still learning new things. On the other hand, a fixed mindset suggests that your talents are set in stone. For example, a student with a fixed mindset may not study for a test, because they believe they’re smart enough already. So, do you have a fixed mindset or a growth mindset? To help you discover that, we've made this video to help you identify the signs you have a growth mindset.

I would add #7. You know how to laugh, especially about your own missteps.

We all make mistakes. Gods know I've made more than my share. I've screwed up more than I've accomplished to date... BUT there's a BIG BIG difference in the two ways someone "takes" a mistake. If he dwells on it and cries and moans and pitches a fit, swears, and refuses to keep on, he's stuck... He doesn't gain anything. He sinks into a despair about the losses from that one mistake and will pass right by other opportunities because he "can't" and he thinks he's proven that by screwing up the one time he tried...
On the other hand, if he swears a bit and then gets right back to figure out where it was screwed up and how to fix it, he might be late, but he LEARNS from the problems he created. He then grabs after the next one, laughing about how "this job won't mess itself up", but having invented a whole lotta work before and learned from it, he gets it together and finishes just a little bit better and easier. Maybe he still doesn't get it perfect, but he can joke about how "Well, it's good enough for government work." AND grabs the next opportunity to try again on something else... Every project taken turns into another surprise package, and either way, he can laugh at his shortcomings, and still just keep growing and learning...

SO don't take yourself or your skill-set too seriously. Life is going to throw you unexpected curve-balls, and you're going to invent work for yourself, come up a few bits of hardware short of finishing a day early or on time, and even manage to screw stuff up royally hopeless once in a while, no matter how "good" you think you are...

"Given a choice to laugh or cry about something, I'll laugh every time." ~Pancho Barnes (who, frankly, should've been more famous than Amelia Earhardt!) ;o)

I have a set mindset on school and work, but in life in general, I have a growth mindset. I love to grow as a morally good person, which is a goal that never has an end.

if there is anything I want in life is learning new things, doesn't matter it relates to me academically or in any other way, if it's interesting to me, I'm learning it. from quantum physics to Freud's principles.

Having a growth mindset has always been helpful for me. It's helped with building my career as an author and my blog and enables me to want to learn and research more about things. I would deffo say I've always had a growth mindset.

Lately I've been struggling with making the good decision in terms of: Being economically responsible but also trying to take on a new challenge that I think will make me happier in the long run. People around me have been saying that I should stay in the path I'm currently and kind of talking down on me just cause I wanted to try a new path. Right now I'm not sure if it means that I was mistaken or that they don't get that I'm not afraid of trying, I would rather try and fail that never try

I used to have a fixed mindset, but over the last year or maybe as recently as the last few months I've noticed I have developed a growth mindset, and I love it. It is so much harder to continue to better myself, but it honestly makes me happier. I love learning new things, I never want to stop :)
