In today's video we are replacing the spark plugs and ignition coils on a 2009 Audi A4 2.0T cabriolet. This process is the same for ALL 4 cyl Audi engines. Very simple and no need to pay someone to do this job when you can do it yourself and save hundreds! Make sure you are working on cold engine and also do NOT overtighten the spark plugs.

As always, here's all the links to the parts and tools needed for this job:

Thanks for saving me some money. Your video gave me the confidence to fit the coil packs myself. Top bloke !!

Thanks that looks quite easy. If a coil pack was faulty is there a way to test it using a multimeter?

Nice video. I have heard bois in the forums say there's no need for anti-seize and it can affect the the torque spec (over-tightening) but I don't know how much I believe that

This is great! But I don't see the link in the Top Right Corner (at .35-.36 seconds), is the link some where else on your video?

Thanks for this video! My mechanic said something about wiring with the clips could be tedious? How true is that? I have audi 2013 a4. He wants to charge me $150 to replace coil packs

Should I replace all ignition coils or just the one that’s bad? Also what are the signs on the actual coil that it’s bad?

You're not supposed to put anti seize on modern spark plugs. They come plated now and anti seize can allow you to over torque. Also, you should double check the gaps even though they come pre gapped.

Great video 👍🏼, question where'd you get the wrench to tighten up the spark plugs? That's nice tells you when to stop.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I have 2006 Audi a4 Quattro and I have been having a lot of troubles with this car. Replaced fuel pump and then pcp valve but feel the car don’t run as powerful as needed. Took for a diabetic shop and said I need to replace the turbo Valve. Car runs no check engine light it’s just feel not much power as before

Should I replace the spark plugs and see how it does?

Thanks for reading and commenting your expert advice is highly appreciated

Do you need to change spark plug if you changed the coils

When a coil is bad what are the symptoms
Besides throwing p0301-p0304 code.
Smoking exhaust, shaking car at idle. I just replaced plugs and oil change car was shaking and smoking white. May have been overfilled. Took .5 L of oil out. Running better the next day. That or catalytic converter is going and throwing misfires. Backup of exhaust? I’ve done Pcv, spark plugs, Diverter valve, next coil packs. Hoping catalytic converter isn’t going. Have you seen these go often and at what mileage?
