WHY THERE IS OIL IN SPARK PLUG WELL, ENGINE MISFIRE FIX

If you have oil in spark plug well / oil in spark plugs well in this video we will explain what can cause you to have oil in the spark plugs and how that can lead to engine misfire. It is very common to see oil in spark plugs on an older car or a car with higher miles. This is due to the fact that gaskets tend to age and often the oil in the spark plugs is cause by failing valve cover gasket. We demonstrated how the spark plug well was full of oil on this car and this was causing engine misfire and you can get multiple misfire codes any thing from P0300 to P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 on a 4 cylinder engine. We were able to fix the oil in spark plug well and the engine misfire by putting new valve cover gasket.

I saw a clever BMW tech on a video take a sprayer out of a bottle like Windex and put the sprayer suction tube tip into the spark plug hole and he squeezed the trigger repeatedly until he drained all the oil out into a rag. Because the tip of the suction tube is small enough to go around the spark plug and take out all the oil there’s less oil at the bottom of the hole when you finally remove the spark plug. I hope this helps you guys.

Never seen that before except when I had a blown head on my altima one time and realized oil was flooding it after a wreck but this one just started doing it and never ran it hot or anything got almost 400, 000 miles and still running fine and now all I need is valve cover so thank you guys!

Sweet! I've done this before on my old car, but that was just because I needed to change the intake gasket and I got an entire gasket set. This time my wife's car's got a ton of oil in the plug well

Thank you so much been trying to figure out what was going on . Valve cover gasket and the spark plug gaskets were damaged oil in one well put the rag in soaked up the oil pulled the plug cleaned it . but also all the ignition coils were pretty bunk so I pulled them all out pulled the springs out and cleaned them and the rubber inside with carb cleaner. no more misfire

This is an excellent video about oil in the spark plug well. My car is 18 years old with original spark plugs in it. I found oil in most of my 6 spark plug wells. If found the threads of spark plugs from cylinders 2 and 4 soaked in oil. I have droplets of oil splattered on the underside of the hood and on the upper side of all the surfaces in the engine bay on the left side of the engine bay, where cylinders 2 and 4 of my V-6 exist. It appears that enough time had passed to oil and penetrate the threads and loosen the plugs enough that compression could force oil out past the spark plugs in a spray mist. My engine died 3 weeks ago, and oil in the spark plug wells is not my only problem.
