Just harvested the last of my giant black Cherokee tomatoes for the season. Texas just got it's first cold front of the year. Making your steak pizziola recipe tonight with New York strips, my tomatoes, some shishito peppers I picked on Monday, a bottle of leftover anniversary Sauvignon Blanc, and a bunch of fresh morels I got on the local mushroom black market. Can't wait! I'm going to bed tonight so fat and happy (and chilly).

I made this Friday night. I was out of balsamic vinegar, I used a splash of Chianti. And WOW!!! AMAZING!!!

i really enjoy your channel and Scott Rea's because both of you get down to COOKING, not explaining where everything came from, i.e., 'i got this from my neighbors down south of here. you know down south of here, don;t you? just off the interstate and then left. and that bowl, well, that bowl was a present from my Meemaw before she died. she died fifteen minutes later, you know this person's history but don't have an inkling of how the recipe works. so thanks, Chef John, for being so concise.
