Ever considered becoming a Buddhist monk in Thailand?

If so, then join the International Dhammadayada Ordination Program (IDOP) at Wat Phra Dhammakaya in Thailand. IDOP gives foreigners an opportunity to ordain as a Buddhist monk, to live in a monastery, and practice the ancient traditions of the Buddha.

Becoming a monk is not easy; however, the most rewarding experience I've ever had. Wat Phra Dhammakaya is the world's largest Buddhist temple in the world and you must come to experience it for yourself.

I'm was born in a Sunni Muslim ☪️ family but I was always curious about the deep and complex questions of the life like existence, meaning, suffering cause..etc. & I couldn't find the answers but kinda fascinated and attracted to the Buddha ever since I was a kid and after reading about thr Nikāyas and Therāvada Buddhism, it changed my life and it means a lot that I found the Noble Buddha's Dhamma!

What a noble channel. An ordinary person decides to become a monk, becomes one and then creates a YouTube channel to share his knowledge and teachings. Love it!!

As an Indian(Bihar) Muslim, I feel that Our Govt. Should work more on Buddhist tourist places like Bodhgaya in Gaya district of Bihar where Buddha received enlightenment & the place from where Buddhist expanded all over the world.

I'm not a Buddhist but I respect the monks and Buddhists way of life. I used to travel to Thailand frequently and partake in the giving of alms (which is basic food like rice and vegetables, all monks are vegetarians) and receiving blessings in return. It is the Buddhist way of life.

I MADE IT TO A MONASTERY!
Didn't go to Thailand, but I was originally inspired by this video and I found an awesome Zen Monastery in the US.
I had a vision of being on my death bed and feeling the disappointment of never having tried this lifestyle.
For anyone that has this spiritual yearning or philosophical curiosity,

GO FOR IT!
The yearning never goes away.

If you can afford Thailand try it, but don't disregard American monasteries or practice centers.
Western teachers have the advantage of understanding the Western mind.
I met a wonderful teacher who told us his teacher, a Chinese Chan master, taught more advanced
techniques to students in the US because they were hungrier to awaken.

Also, monasteries in the US are usually open to all people, women, men, LGBTQIA, international, BIPOC,
all ages, people with disabilities, different dietary needs, and even punk rockers.

Much love to Nick for putting himself out there and following his call.
Good luck to all on your path 💛

I ❤️❤️❤️ Buddhism. It’s teaching me how to forgive and let go of people who have physically abused me for many years. I tried other methods, religion, but only Buddhism teaches exactly HOW to do it ❤️

I'm a Tibetan Buddhist monk. I totally agree. In buddhism discipline is one of the most key things. Without discipline will not achieve wisdom and compassion..

I've been seriously investigating this and I really am glad a program like this exists. As a military veteran, I was excited to see the discipline portion with what looks to be members of the Thai Army. Thank you for the great video and stay safe out there Nick!

I am from california, United States and my name is Narcedalia. I went to Thailand and was in this IDOP specifically. I loved every minute of it. Being a female was treated no different than any man. The ceromonies and teachings really opened me up to my spirituality. I never thought I would become a monk but there I was becoming an ordained monk. If you are looking for spiritual insight IDOP is for you. I ask everyone to join IDOP like I did and grow. It is for everyone and the challenge is to accept the journey your led on. You will not regret your decision. I know I don't.
