As someone who does Calisthenics, these reminders are really helpful. I've noticed my knees buckling like this but I would never have known how to focus on not doing it.

Her pinky toe was so powerful, it decided to take over for the weak hip external rotators and VMO.

Yes, and it may be a weakness/imbalance due to weaker glutes. I noticed in my squat my quads trying to take over, so as to take some load off my glute, and this knee cave happened.

Thank you for sharing proper stance when lifting. Watching this video made me realize I need to be more aware of knees, thighs and feet positioning.

I’ve been wondering what I needed to do to fix this problem - thank you!

You gave her an external cueing, she was focusing on making sure the band does not snap which corrected her caving knee instead of focusing on actually focusing on steadying her knee.

Holy sh1t man you changed my life, I notice that sometimes happens to me. I started using toe spacers to fix my feet, hopefully that helps, but now I'm gonna pretend there's a band in my feet haha, thanks seriously.

Crossfitters will be pissed at the mere existence of this video. You ever see their squat comps? My god

I wear a circular band around the knee, so I am constantly pushing my knees out. I do this to prevent my knees from caving in. This video also presents a very good idea.

what's even more crazy to me is that most people lifting heavy weight seriously lack body awareness. Another example : I'm a gardener and have to explain to newbies how to properly use a shovel by thinking about THE BODY and correct stance in space and not the TOOL so they can finish the day fresh and not exhausted. I've seen a man with ten years of experience complaining about his back and lifting 40 kgs shrubs "by doing a jefferson curl" and never use his legs. Same guy also asked me how I can work 40 hours per week on awkward terrain with a 2/3mm sole vivobarefoot shoe... while they wear 2 kgs boots. Attention to details is everything. Be water.
Nice short, doc.
