I do omad to 2 meals a day and don't count calories and mix it up with 3 to 4 day fast water only . I don't stick to a pattern and don't want to get stuck in the omad trap. You Don't want your body to adapt. Mix it up and keep fasting and be safe and listen to your body, if you feel sick stop fast. Be safe people. Find what works for you. Good video

You touched on several important points here. I did 110 days of mostly 3 or 4 days of fasting a year ago. I had several rules. Number one “listen to your body”... If it is telling you to break a fast... if you are having alarming manifestations... break the fast. Don’t be rigid... there is always another day. Number two was change things up constantly.... don’t set a pattern. My goal was twofold.... weight loss, and bringing my blood pressure at 202, I had a target of 50 lb weight loss. My blood pressure was in an extreme danger zone. Autophagy was something I discovered after I began fasting, and it has been beneficial.... and became a major driver. I completed 110 days in slightly over 4 months.... It was a matter of I virtually never doctor, and would refuse to take drugs.... aside from antibiotics.
I allowed some weight gain.... I absolutely refuse to be a calorie counter / dieter, but I did change my eating habits. This year, I am doing about 50 days, to eliminate the gain, and shed another 10 lbs, and to gain more from autophagy. I will not follow your protein advice... Hardly necessary in these longer fasts. I’m nearing the end of my third fast.... a 5 day.... the previous two were 3, with a break day, followed by 5 days, and a 5 day break. I will probably take a day or two, and do a 2 day with the first day a dry fast, then break and into skip 3 eat one for a week or I may knock off for a week or more, and then resume fasts. The idea is to keep my body “off balance”, not setting a pattern.
An amazing thing happened. I had pinched a finger a few weeks ago very badly, and will probably lose the nail. It was all black under the nail. I didn’t bother burning a hole in the nail to relieve the pressure and pain...just ignored it .... a pinky.... Over this last fast, the clotted blood beneath the nail disappeared....completely! Autophagy at work! I’ve pinched fingers and lost the nail quite a number of times over the last 60+ years, but never seen anything remotely like

Thanks, I just got to 17hrs . I’m going to follow this. I’m not fasting for weight, I’m fasting for diabetes control. So far from 11.1 to 6.4 in 4 months. I want to get it down to no medication, that’s my goal. I think this information will get me there.

I am listening to the videos soaking up the info while jogging or doing the laundry, already IFing and mentally preparing myself for a future longer fast, I am still nursing my 1 y/o so I am waiting on a 24 hr fast. That’s a great advise. I am doing this kind of fasting now after loosing 87 pounds. Just want to loose 5 pounds more. 224 pounds to 137 now, also amazingly healthy. I basically followed Dr. Fung and now I am going with you, ! Thank you Dr. Mindy for presenting wonderfully simplifying fasting regimes and analysis.
This video was perfect at this stage of my weight loss health regain journey!
I am 62 years old female. I thank god everyday for finding fasting regimens.
