Oh, Dominique, I am 85 now and life has taken a lot of control out of me. But this program describes my life so much.

What a beautiful woman of God!
I have been enriched so much more than when you had Mrs.Olsteen in your past pod..
which i believe she didn’t mentioned God.
This woman’s understanding and respect for the Lord ..
it is absolutely on point!
Dominique you spoke beautifully too😘

This message hits home. Exactly what my mom and I just talked about the other day. Acceptance of what is and releasing the control of whatever it is and it's okay. What a feeling of joy and FREEDOM after surrendering it to God. God bless you for sharing!!

The mind along with trauma is extremely complex. Many times we are doing things we don’t even realize unless we take a journey of healing of self and how things show up. I choose to be with myself these days in order to know myself better and heal . I used to feel a man was my answer to everything so I made bad unhealthy choices but no longer . Freedom from it all is joy ❤️

What a great conversation! Honestly, I bypassed this video a few times since I thought I had everything under ‘control.’ But this video really drives home the need for self awareness,
being more cognizant of our behavior, and its impact on others. The fruitage of the spirit is so powerful and the counsel to not be anxious over ‘anything’ but in everything make supplication to God. My turning point was when I thought I was losing control with no way out and truly meditating on the words found in the Bible. What IF I do exactly what the Bible says, not to worry, not to be anxious, throw your burdens on God, make supplication, what IF I just listened, , truly trusting Him with my concerns and leaving them with Him, what would happen? There are no words for the peace God gives you when we show that we trust and have faith that He will do exactly what He says He will do. 🤍

For me, I feel it is due to growing up in an alcoholic household. Lots of emotional trauma as a child where I had no control. As an adult, I want to feel like things are managed. Trying to avoid problems and stressful situations. Sometimes it creates stress within my relationships.

This podcast is gold!! I think so many of us struggle with control and letting go and letting God. Thank you both for bringing such valuable information and insights to your platform. ❤❤

Garth Brooks once said to a filmmaker friend of mine, "Do you know how to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans." Yep. This was a great conversation, thank you. When you mentioned about how you never wanted to rely on a man to take care of you, that hit me hard. While listening to my mother when I was about 12 years old cry once again about how dad had ruined her life and that all men were evil (not true but I heard it regularly) I remember making the mental decision that I would never rely on a man to take care of me financially and always be able to take care of myself. I have been alone my entire 57 years because of that. I've got an extremely in the other direction. Mom would never leave dad because she didn't want to have to get a job and take care of herself. Granted, I've also just never met the right guy, but I do wonder now if my solo and mostly unhappy life has been due to that decision I made as a 12 year old.

I Hadn’t tuned in to your videos for awhile for personal reasons. Today I was really excited about listening to this conversation because I have one daughter who is a perfectionist & control freak and for several of the reasons that Courtney stated.
However, and unfortunately you both threw me a curve ball about the subject of faith. Yes, indeed my faith has helped me tremendously on my journey to self fulfilment and serenity. I am a full fledged grandmother, an artist as well as an active member of my church. However, not everyone has faith in our Creator. I have tried bringing up the topic several times but the discussion ends in me being humiliated. And I do understand everyone who is not on a faith journey.
Now my question is addressed to Courtney, how can one suffering from perfectionism/ wanting to control everything and everyone help themselves if they do not believe in God? I think it’s doable, what say you? Thanks.

Thank you, Dominique for always bringing such relatable topics!! This one really spoke to me. As a Mom of a medically fragile son, it's hard to trust anyone for his care, but I'm in a season of learning to let go and let God.🙏🙌 I have to confess it is not easy!
Jada, my prayers & condolences for you and the family.
God bless you both❤

I grew up as a sickly child and my control existed because I had to be perfect. If God called me home I was ready. Now at 61, I realized He made me perfect not from what I did or did not do. Control was keeping me from Him molding me to His perfection. Thanks for the reminder. 1:04:53

One of the primary messages I get from this is the idea that you can let go of control when you can fully 100% trust that someone ELSE really IS in control, and its someone you can trust.

To me that's not really getting comfortable with the true lack of control in life.

The truth is that NO one is control, no person, no imaginary character, No. One.

And THAT is what we can learn to get comfortable with, and that is what is truly freeing.
