Blender Secrets - Modeling from photos using Knife Project

Previously we looked at using the Knife tool to cut shapes out of an image plane, in order to extrude and transform those parts to create a 3D model. Alternatively, you can also create a cutter object beforehand, and then use Knife Project to cut that out of the image plane. This has a couple of advantages which we’ll explore in this video. Knife project now works differently, you only click on the geometry you want to project onto, then edit mode and Shift Click or Control Click the cutting object in the collection area, then choose mesh-knife project.

No other selected objects have wire or boundary edges to use for projection

I notice from the first video for the kind tool does it matter if some of the edges look off by any chance? When I saw the first video it looked like some of the edges looked a bit out of place but you still made it work. I could be wrong and hopefully this isn’t a stupid question to ask.

Why is it when I do this I follow the instructions exactly, then try to sculpt the object, add bevels or anything, the geometry doesn't work the way it's meant to?
I try to select the extruded edge with alt-click and it only highlights little segments and doesn't recognise it as a complete loop.
when I try to sculpt or bevel the faces just move around in triangles and I cannot smoothly sculpt the object.
I tried to remesh and it crashes Blender.
Just nothing seems to work the way it's meant to :S please help.

Good tip but you have created some geometries that are already in perspective and extruded them witch is not correct
