A Better Birth Experience in Western Iowa

At Methodist Jennie Edmundson, we offer trusted care for you and your baby in our beautiful, state-of-the-art spaces that ensure your comfort and safety from pregnancy to birth and beyond.

Together, the Anne Elizabeth Nelson Women and Newborns Center on the fifth floor of Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital and the Methodist Physicians Clinic Women’s Center have made our campus the premier destination for women’s health care in western Iowa.

The 18,000-square-foot Women and Newborns unit opened in December 2020. It features:
• Six private rooms for mothers in labor
• Three Jacuzzi tubs for pain control
• Portable fetal monitoring
• 12 postpartum rooms
• A cesarean section (C-section) suite
• Four Level II NICU bays
• A new infant security system
• Expanded space for childbirth education classes and breastfeeding support
• A larger waiting room for family and friends
• The ability to deliver 1,000 babies a year – up from 600
The 60,000-square-foot Methodist Jennie Edmundson Medical Plaza, which is home to Methodist Physicians Clinic Women’s Center, opened in June 2020. A variety of women’s health and imaging services are available on the second floor, which has:
• 25 exam rooms
• Four intake areas
• Two treatment rooms
• Two non-stress testing rooms
• A diagnostic lab
• Nurse stations and physician offices
• Intake and exam room space for maternal-fetal medicine specialists from the Methodist Hospital Perinatal Center
• Two ultrasound rooms, a mammography room and a DEXA scan room
