The costume designers definitely deserve huge pay raises for how perfectly they were able to replicate the costumes to the real life outfits.

the biggest thing S6 part 1 had me wondering about was if Dodi and Diana's relationship was completely forced/manipulated that much by his father or not. if so, it made me even more sad for Diana.

Ms. Debecki deserves all the awards for her portrayal. and Mr. Abdalla should get some nominations, as well.

12:03 is so embarrassing for you guys, the sisters were literally the women sitting behind Charles on the plane and we see them reacting to hearing charles crying over diana's body 😬😬😬😬

The casting choice just blows me away for Diana tall, slender build, the looks, the accent, honestly don’t think they could have found a better replacement

When I watched the episodes, I did not get the impression that Diana drove up to the Paparazzi to overshadow Camilla's Birthday. I had the impression she did it, to give them something so they would leave and let William enjoy the rest of the vacation. She only went after he got so upset about the Paparazzi bothering them. The media just made it about Camilla, was what the show implied. I had the feeling, that the show went the direction of presenting the events leading up to Diana's death as huge misunderstandings between all the parts, which left the world, royal family and Fayed family cought in a turmoil of confusion and contradicting blame shifting.

The one thing that really interesting is whether Dodi made the proposal and what Diane said

Princess Diana was killed on my birthday when I was 7. I’ve always remembered it raining when the car crash happened. Maybe it’s a false memory but it’s been with me for such a long time that I was shocked when I saw the episode.

I was under the impression that Tony Blair was the person who insisted that the queen make an appearance in public doing “the walkabout” outside the palace to show her empathy in Diana’s death.

It was widely circulated at the time that it was indeed Charles that insisted on taking the plane and coming and getting her. I don't think the Queen had much to do with that

Prince William did disappear but never left Balmoral. I'm the same age as William and remember thinking that I'd want to run away if my mom died. It made sense to a teenager mind.

You're also incorrect about the phots of Charles with his kids by the rocks. What the series didn't show was the huge backfire that happened because the public said it looked really staged. The public and the press didn't believe Charles would just hang out at balmoral in a kilt, and no one believed that the boys would go walking in that weather or environment in khakis and a dress shirt. The palace had to come out and admit it was staged - which is what the series showed.

I don't blame the Queen for taking a while to warm up to Camilla, especially since Charles had been cheating on Diana with her for almost their entire marriage. At least they seemed civil, right up to the Queen's passing.

You say that The Crown shows Charles going alone to Paris to get Diana’s body. I remember the actresses playing Diana’s two sisters being present on The Crown’s depiction of the flight to Paris. I’ll have to watch that episode of The Crown again, but I think the show had her two sisters being present. So I think The Crown is accurate on that plot point.

I think changing the Queen's actions when it came to the transporting Diana's body and the funeral was a bad idea because it paints her more as the antagonist and not as the person who bared no I'll will against someone she may have been in disagreement with at some point. I guess they wanted to justify in some way the narrative route they chose with Diana convincing the Queen to go to London.

Diana’s sisters were on the plane with Charles. Might want to fix that one….

I don't like the way Kelly Fisher was treated by the Al-fayeds!
