I'm really going to miss this show once it concludes. They certainly did their homework in perfectly replicating all of the speeches, right down to the costumes!

Looking back to season 1&2 shows me again just HOW good Claire Foy was. No offense to Colman or Staunton but Claire will always be MY queen.

The Queen's public address scene following Diana's death indeed has a particular choice of lighting. But the symbolism is immense. The background – the people – is in the light, while the Queen is in darkness. I think it is a way of representing how the will of the people overthrew that of the royal family.

Love this show so much. Every one of these speeches is iconic. Amazing work recreating them.

Her monologue about the "unlived live" (owning horses, breading horses, racing horses, until the other thing came along) in Season 3 or 4 is for me still the most moving and relateable speech of the show.

The tampon call is absolutely a flashback to 1993. I was 19

The Queen's Christmas speeches weren't just broadcast live in the UK. I remember watching them live with my grandmother in Australia as well.

Honestly- those ‘shocking’ moments are anything but.

How many of us would want our most intimate conversations with our romantic loves recorded?

Or to be put on the spot about being asked if we are feeling deeply in love on a public interview. One of the reasons Diana was seen as suitable was because she did not talk to the media about such personal matters.

I think it’s important to note that while it was recreated amazingly, there were passages in The Crown’s version Diana’s Panorama interview which she did not actually say, and the real interview has been denounced by Prince William who said it should never be shown again.

They didn’t do Imelda Staunton any favors. They needed to make her hair higher and fuller to replicate QE2’s signature hairstyle, and to also avoid making us remember Professor Umbridge. I had recently rewatched the queen’s actual speech, and was surprised at how close she copied her voice. As for physical resemblance though, they needed to work harder. Also, knowing what we now know, Charles was wearing his emotions on his sleeve…his body language screamed he was in love with someone else. We’ve all been there—dating someone else to help forget the one we actually love — and actually not hating the person we’re with at the moment, and you feel incredibly trapped. Most of us have the luxury of calling the brakes on that — he didn’t.

After Queen Elizabeth II died I wished Netflix decided to not end the crown with season 6 and instead kept the show going and showing the end of her reign and funeral honoring her service to the United Kingdom. 😢

I remember some of these Crown moments, I cried when I heard Diana Died. I actually blamed Charles for her death. If he just loved Diana and got over his mommy issues those two would have had a long and prosperous reign.
