Unfortunately people actually think fast food is cheaper then eating healthy. Its not!!! Especially if you stop snacking and eating other crap! We eat 2x a day and save money on groceries by getting healthier options. Once you kick the sugar addiction its easy! Another great interview Thomas!!!

Snicker dates:
• Medjool dates
• Nut butter (I use peanut butter)
• Nuts (I use crushed peanuts)
• Dark chocolate (I use a vegan one because I’m lactose intolerant)

Pit the the dates. Spread nut butter on the inside. Add nuts, close. Dip stuffed date into melted chocolate. Freeze. Delicious! 🤤👌🏻

I stopped eating and drinking all processed food 2 years ago ...
316 lbs down to 160 in 10 months, completely reversed my life and all the damage my eating habits had done.
Something that works extremely well for me is walking to the grocery store every morning, it's a 3 mile round trip and I wear my backpack with a 25 lb plate in it to buy lean meat and vegetables for the day

I am a recovering 30 year diet coke drinker. Been clear of it for 2 weeks now, between that and Keto, I have virtually no inflammation now. Thankful that people put this info out for me to learn.

One good thing about highly processed foods like MacDonalds burgers is they don’t decompose or require refrigeration. I can go hunting for a week in summer time with a few MacDonalds cheeseburgers in my pack and they still taste the same after 7 days. Bonus is I can use the box as an emergency fire starter and the paper wrapper as toilet paper

I first started noticing awful diets in US kids in the early 90s. I couldn't believe my eyes when I went into a local convenience store and saw a line of teens buying "breakfast:" Sodas, Ho Hos, potato chips, candy, candy They then proceeded to the bus stop.
We only drank one or two sodas on the weekend, growing up. Sit-down breakfast consisted of sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy (mostly for the adults) and hot cereal for the kids. You could have scrambled eggs and one sausage if you wanted.
We never ate fast food nor was pizza delivery a thing. Heck, the milk man was the closest to delivery we got. And remember, high fructose corn syrup was not a thing in the 60s, so boxed cereal was very different, as was orange juice. Maybe three kids in my high school class (200 or so) were obese, and I can think of half a dozen or so that were overweight.

Thanks for sharing, but we stopped buying & eating all ultra processed foods back in 1980 while living in big city Houston, TX. We adopted natural hygiene, attended all of their conferences in Texas & Florida, as well as planting a garden in our backyard. We shopped at all farmers markets where we relocated, years later. To this day we still cook and eat at home!!!Yes to having a small organic breakfast. I have read all of Shawn's books. We always eat together. We go to the gym 6 days a week. Living in a national park with wildlife for neighbors, foxes, bear, snakes, possums, deer, wildflowers, NO FAST FOODS AT ALL the Ozarks, drinking fresh spring water, with a full pantry of organic & wild foods, dried herbs & essential oils

### Key Takeaways from "9 Ways to Stop Eating Processed Food and Lose Fat"

1. **Upgrade Classic Treats:** Replace processed snacks with homemade versions using healthier ingredients, like dark cherries in frozen yogurt pops, to maintain enjoyment while improving nutritional value.

2. **Avoid Combining Fats & Carbs:** Processed foods high in both fats and carbs can increase addiction. Opt for foods that separate these macronutrients and consider making healthier versions of favorite snacks.

3. **Foster a Healthy Eating Culture:** Regular family meals can lead to healthier eating habits, reducing the intake of processed foods and fostering better physical and psychological health.

4. **Pre-Meal Protein Appetizers:** Consuming a protein-rich appetizer before meals can help control hunger and reduce the likelihood of overeating, especially processed foods.

5. **Mindful Eating Practices:** Engage in conversations during meals and eat slowly to improve digestion and nutrient assimilation, and to reduce stress and overeating.

6. **Create a Positive Kitchen Environment:** Make your kitchen a welcoming space for preparing healthy meals, with visible and accessible healthy food options, and plan meals in advance.

7. **Meal Stacking and Planning:** Prepare large batches of meals and prioritize nutritious breakfasts to regulate blood sugar, improve metabolism, and reduce poor food choices throughout the day.

8. **Shift Towards Whole Foods:** Gradually increase the intake of whole, unprocessed foods while reducing ultra-processed foods to improve overall health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

9. **Educate and Involve Extended Family:** Encourage and support family members to adopt healthier eating habits by becoming more food literate and making informed choices about ingredients and meal preparation.

I keep my carbs for fruit. I’m glad to know I don’t need to totally avoid honey. Obviously, it’s possible to overdo that if, in general, you eat a lot of sweets. But otherwise, using honey certainly tastes better than using another sweetener in some things. (I’m thinking of homemade ice cream, my sweet weakness 🥴).
Thanks for sharing your insights and knowledge.

I take 1tablespoon of honey and two of olive oil everyday honey is a good sweetener if you try it on different things even the minimal coating on the spoon I use sweetens things nicely if I eat something right after taking the honey great video guys enjoyed it👍

Chewing and being aware of it is huge. I never knew why until watching this video.
Yeah, it would be important as a hunter-gatherer to roll things around in your mouth, note the flavor and texture and eat it slowly to see what the effect on the body might be. If you get dizzy, you sure would spit it out.

An interview I watched years ago with Arnold talking about his diet for the Olympia, he stated that cherry protein smoothies are his go-to for inflammation and the joints!

When it comes to grocery shopping I think most layouts are the same. I equate it all the time to what that kid said in Jurassic Park 3, all the dangerous stuff is in the interior of the island. Most of the terrible foods are in the aisles. Things like meats, produce, cheese, fruits, veggies all those are outside the aisles. Other than a handful of exceptions there's no reason to explore the interior aisles of any grocery store when it comes to food. A comment I saw on a different video said "never buy anything that has a diet you're doing written on it." That was hilarious and great, if it says Keto it's probably not. I think it'd help if people learned a bit about marketing and buzzwords, learn how you're being manipulated. Next time you're shopping try to remember ads you've seen for certain foods. I've never seen a commercial for purple cabbage but it's great for you.

I wonder if anyone else views the vast majority of grocery stores as a waste. A waste in resources to get make and get junk foods where they have to go.

Anyone who has actually put in the WORK towards health and fitness, eventually stops eating fast food altogether. It's literally not worth the cost. You'll discover things like the taste. All fast food becomes very oily to your taste buds. It also taste the same as every other fast food joint. But also the fullness factor. Eating fast food, will generally make you more hungry within hours. Total waste of money and energy. Like most people though, once you've become fat-adaptive, keto-adaptive, etc once you're living healthy running off of healthy foods, you'll find that processed foods, slow you down and make you feel bad. Not always sick, but definitely like you're not running at 100%, and you'll feel not even capable of running at max capability.

This is also not just for Fast Food, but a whole host of restaurant's use way too much cooking oils in everything they prepare.

I have just resorted, like most here, to simply NOT eat in town, most especially fast food joints. My only rescue, is oddly enough, usually a BBQ Place. At a BBQ joint, you can generally get meat and vegetables. Simple, minimally processed. Eating in-town, can feel like a nightmare. Just make your options only two choices. NOTHING at all, or Meat & Veggies from a BBQ place, or higher end restaurant. If you can't figure it out, GO HOME! safest bet.

Fast food and sugary processed drinks is FAR more expensive than eating whole foods. You really have to cut it all out to see how much money you can actually save. The only thing is it does take more time, and there is the convenience factor.

But if you do what you're supposed to such as going to bed for 7-8 hrs, excersize, and wake up and cook & prep food to eat. You can easily bypass the need for fast food at work.

It just comes down if you WANT to do it, you will.
