My health has improved in many ways since I started eating more butter, cream, avocados, nuts, coconut oil, etc. and upping my protein. I'm not as hungry for carbs, for one.

Low carb is NOT low calorie. I’m a woman who’s lost over 30 pounds in three months eating low carb, high fat. I’ve never been hungry and feel so much better than when I was eating simple carbs. I gave up all sugar, bread and pasta. Not easy for an Italian at first but now I don’t have cravings at all. I’m keeping this lifestyle because I’m happy with it.

The most important thing in a diet is balance. Cutting out any food group is probably not the best idea for overall health. The best advice is to stay away from processed foods and refined sugers or just eat very little of them.

Like the guy said. If you do it for health it'll help hormones. For example, myself I went from obese to in shape doing keto and felt like a beast. However when I was over doing it and got very lean I think I had issues with depression and stuff. I'm actually getting back on keto now and have been losing weight this time I'll get back on carbs once I get in the teens of body fat

Seriously since ive been consuming 1950 calories a day sometimes 2000 calories I've probably been in the best shape and my love handles have nearly gone I would never go back to 1500 or 1600 calories never

So I was running a Carb<50 diet with good amount of fat & Protein but it’s just not sustainable and was feeling very lethargic, but the moment I shift the carb from <50 to 80-100 3 days a week when I rest and just do HIIT(fats are constantly high with proteins) with other days with moderate & high carb days when I workout and I’ve seen just a big shift in my mood, sleep, sustainability and most were the fat loss result after a month or so. Did some tweaks and run it for 3 month and drops somewhere around 8-10kg of mostly fat while setting up new PRs too every other week or so.

I have a nice re-feed or cheat day every other Saturday and that seems to help me out quite a bit. Other than that, I eat mainly protein, some fats and very few to no carbs.

Been losing MAD hair on keto and didn't even lose any weight over a 2 month period lol, gonna switch to a low carb diet (60g to 100g net carb) with extra carbs around lifts. Also, keto does raise total test, but reduces free testosterone which kinda makes it moot.

I'm on paleo diet, i will eat keto bread.

Anyways a high protein diet with alot of greens, spinach, broccoli, zucchini seem to help keep me satisfied along with about 50grams of protein per meal.

My gyno has gone down just a little, I've lost 6lbs my first week and only eat when I'm hungry.

I also try to get 7 to 9 hours of sleep a day.

Are we talking low carb or keto. I’ve been on keto for 6 months. Lost fat. Gained muscle. I’m feeling great. My question is, what can I expect if I continue this long term?

The reason I don't like low carb diets is because I like carbs... And you probably do too. If you want to lose weight, go for a keto like diet for a little while. If it works, great. But if you can't keep the weight off then I don't think it's worth it. I've tried all the diets and the only one that worked for me is portion control and the lifestyle change that came with it. My parents taught me bad eating habits as a child. I'm 26 and I'm just now starting to understand what a good relationship with food feels like. You can trick your body into all sorts of things. Maybe less carbs means you're getting hungry less. But are you never going to eat pizza again? My answer is an big no. It's better to rely on your own will power than relying on restricting certain foods completely. You are a human and food used to be a scarce resource. I've accepted my evolutionary tendency to be addicted to food and I'm on my way to stomping it out. Bottom line, eating under your maintenance isn't supposed to be easy when you're surrounded by food, because your body doesn't prefer to voluntarily starve itself. I suppose any diet that is restricting calories below maintenance is teaching you how to eat with discipline. People search for the quick and easy method without thinking about the long term. In theory, you should only be eating below your maintenance for one weight loss cycle, and if you keep the weight off, you eat at maintenance for the rest of your life. I'm 6 foot, 190 pounds and I'm still trying to cut the last bit of fat. Even at a 750 calorie deficit, I'm eating 2800 calories a day because I'm very active. My metabolism grinds through food like crazy, but that also means if I eat like shit and don't exercise, my body works out into gay very quickly. I'm leaner now than I was two years ago at ~170 because I put on some muscle. Long term success is about discipline. Fad diets can be good for short term success, but if you are playing the weight loss game because you want to actually be healthier, then discipline is all that matters. Daily exercise is the thing that finally brought me the discipline to stick to a good diet. If you want to play on hard mode, try eating edibles everyday... Talk about insatiable hunger.

I've been doing carnivore for 3 months. I've lost 31 lbs so far. I've been working out the whole time. I've been gradually loosing strength. The other day I was doing bench press. I did 155x10 one set. Next set was 155x6. This is horrible for me. I'm now experimenting with adding carbs before a workout. 2 tablespoons of raw honey. I'll see how this works for a couple weeks. This will add about 34mg of carbs. Then go from there. I'll be doing it late afternoon early evening before a workout. Not in the morning or just after getting up but later in the day. I want to find this ballance of loosing weight without hurting my workout.

I did carnivore diet from aug 12- dec 25

In November I began getting hormonal migraines 2-3 times a month..

I am wondering if I have wrecked my hormones .. before carnivore only has 1-3 migraines A YEAR - usually hormonal related

November - December 2023 I had FIVE.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening before - I can’t find any other anecdotal evidence for it

Charles Poliquin recommended low carb to anyone over 10% BF along with German Body Comp training. Is it safe to use this for 10 weeks or so to shred? I'm trying to get real lean before my son is born. Currently sitting about 18-20% bf.
