“Cheapest” doesn’t mean move there. Laurinburg is where you try not to stop on the way to the beach.

Statesville. 1 1/2 to asheville, 40 min to charlotte, 45 min to winston salem. Hour to greensboro. Still pretty cheap.

You didn’t touch much on job opportunities in these towns; I live in Greensboro and we have had an uptick in major companies setting up factories and offices for over a decade. Most notable are HondaJet, Boom Supersonic, Mack Trucks world headquarters, Volvo Trucks North America headquarters, TIMCO, a kidney pharmaceutical factory, 5+ universities and most recently, Toyota’s new battery manufacturing plant (which is aiming to hire around 5000 people).
Also worth mentioning is that there is a special Amtrak service that runs between Charlotte and Raleigh (with stops in between including Greensboro).

Really? Fayetteville & Lumberton? Great research... They might be cheap but half of these towns are rated highest crime & poverty and rated worst places to live.
Money isn't everything...

NC has a higher crime rate than NY, NJ and Conn. Also the home values are over 400k in an average development in raleigh, cary, apex, morrisville, holly springs. These towns are in the areas where the jobs are. If your not in the Medical industry you can expect to make on the average only 50k in the mentioned towns. The value of 200k homes are in areas where a nirth easterner would not want to live and there are no corporate jobs.

I don’t hear and crime statistics here! Usually when a town or city has low cost of living crime statistics are not low!

These might be the "cheapest" places in NC...but there is a reason they are cheap. Do some research before moving to anything on this list. Most of these places died (and never recovered) when the textile mills shutdown.

You're talking about Greenville? Your video is about North Carolina but you show a map of Greenville, South Carolina. You really need to proof your videos before you post them.

Lumberton is for retirement people, only. I used to live there. I moved to Fayetteville. I am good here.😊

Everyone always forgets there is a western NC except taxes it is ridiculous. It’s just like we don’t even exist. They get to Charlotte and it’s kind of like anything west of Charlotte is no longer part of the North Carolina that’s interesting. Maybe we just need to divide it up and become western something or other

Burlington has had an increase in crime, still not bad, but Graham which is right next to Burlington is even cheaper.

I'm transitioning from Philadelphia to Charlotte and these are the following things I don't like in Charoltte and other parts of NC

#1.the driving is absolutely horrible I got in my first major accident there which surprised me because Philadelphia has terrible drivers as well. The lady who hit me was rude and sarcastic she started crying to the police officers to get her way. Lucky for me a man with a Dash camera caught the whole thing. So her story went out the window.  I told the Police officer I noticed down here in North Carolina the people drive fast. The police officer said Yes they do if they got somewhere to go you better get out of there way. So I would never live down NC unless you have a car with a good safety rating.

#2 Its  boring but not if your a tourist.  I just follow what events are happening for tourist. They do have a fleamarket on Saturday in the NODA area of Charoltte and most people hang at Opportunist hall well the So called cool people older and younger. There also alot of non-adverised events like once I bumped into a after hours weekly night food vending truck market it was nice but they don't advertise these events its only known within the community

#3 You can't eat off the land. I literally furnished my entire apartment when I was a college student living in Philadelphia. Philadelphia residents throw away usable items all the time. They don't have the same trash economy as Philadelphia because of so many apartments especially in Charoltte.

# 4.The weather is weird its like you have 3 good days out of a week and the rest of the days you have to cross your fingers

#5.Diversity is a problem . I once saw a event online That said  how to " Get to know a black person" I'm like Why would people need to know how to get to know a black person. You just talk to people and if you click you click Why do you need to do anything else.

#6 most people in North Carolina don't like umbrellas  I would assume that if your state always has rain why do most people don't carry umbrellas.  One day I was in Charlotte and watched the morning work crowd come off the transportation on a rainy day only 4 people had umbrellas as I watched hundreds of people go to work I started to notice this was a regular thing.

#7 If you find a job employers have no Room for flexibility.  They absolutely will not work with your time schedule I was hired at several jobs but couldn't take any of them even though I offered them full time employment they would not even give me one Day out the week to do my personal  things including religion.

#8 car theft is real one day it was a real bad thunderstorm in Charlotte so I pulled over in a small parking lot where there was stores and restaurants. I dozed off to sleep and was awakened by guys trying to open my door and Car jack me. I speed off on them. ( im not a brave person but I'm not scary either thank God I was able to think quickly and get out of there)

#9 it's a myth that the prices are cheap especially in Charlotte. The prices at the supermarket, clothing, housing and gas are expensive  The same as any city. I shop at all the markets out there none of them are cheap Publix market, whole foods, Harris tweeter they all have sales here and there.  ALDI SUPERMARKET IS THE ONLY GOOD MARKET AND THEY SALE $3 BOTTLE OF WINE THATS PRETTY GOOD I fill up my gas in Rockhill south carolina because I have friends that live out there. So if Charlotte gas is 3 75 a gallon south carolina will be 3.09 a gallon.

#10 most of the natural residents are plus size. I kind of feel underweight down there most of the people who are originally from Charlotte are not skinny at all. The people like college kids and those people that are not originally from Charlotte are thin. In Fortmill that's where most of the skinny people live at. It doesn't really matter but I did notice that. You have to be careful what you eat because most of the food restaurants are not healthy. They have good food down there but you will pick up weight easily especially if you eat out all the time.
