I want to thank you for educating us. I work retail, and the other day a beautiful Muslim woman wearing a gorgeous hijab came through the self checkout line where I was working. I approached her to compliment her hijab, and I noticed that a little bit of her hair was peeking out from her under scarf. I discreetly let her know, and she was SO thankful. She was able to fix her hijab, and she was the sweetest person I’ve ever encountered at work. If amazing people like you didn’t take the time out of your day to educate people like me who don’t share the same culture/religion/beliefs, I would have not been able to compliment her hijab, because I wouldn’t know what to call it, and I wouldn’t have been able to understand that some women don’t like any of their hair showing, no matter how small the amount. I also know to be extra careful when I’m taking currency from Muslim men so I don’t accidentally touch them.
