I am not a religious person. Every Muslim person I've ever met has been extremely, extremely kind and friendly towards me. I wish only for peace, joy, and prosperity for Muslim people--as well as for all people. I hope the world becomes a more loving and peaceful place for everyone. I'm not a muslim, but I wear super modest clothes (only hands and face shown), I don't hug or shake hands with anyone, regardless of gender, I wear a hijab and a niqab WHEN home alone. I'm very friendly with everyone, especially my friends and neighbors. I also believe that cleanliness is very important!

I ran into the ablutions issue years ago. I'm an atheist (and white/western) but well-educated, so I was aware of that aspect of Muslim life. Walked in on a woman in a library restroom washing her feet. Since she was wearing a hijab, I figured it was that, so I was very chill and said something like 'prepping for prayers?' She was so relieved and happy that I knew she wasn't doing something weird. It doesn't take a lot of effort to learn the basics of other cultures, and it's worth doing!

I learned about ablutions when I was a kid and walked in on a woman who was washing her feet in the restroom of a library. I thought there was something wrong with the carpet and some chemicals got on her feet through her shoes or something, so I started washing my feet, too. Haha, man, we were probably both feeling super confused by each other XD.

I love when non Muslims try to understand Muslims. For example I remember this one time when I had a new math teacher, he introduced himself and told all the hijabis that he has hijab pins if we ever need one. Its so simple but makes me feel so touched.
