I love it when guys fight with a rhythm

Telegraphs, breathing, tempo, even combos I can just 'feel' em

this actually good for beginners/novices to build up their confidence... not everyone can just like go in and be natural.

I learnt more about muay thai in this 30 seconds than I have in watching combat sports for the last 15 years. Good stuff

I love fighting against this style because it can be really easy to time if they don't vary the rhythm and timing of attacks. Easy to counter too. The main reason for this stepping is to generate power through momentum, which good MT fighters are awesome at.

Shane, you have the gift of teaching. You have posted a lot of good instructional videos over the years showcasing knowledge and good clean bag skills. I would love to see some examples of the real time application of these techniques such as in sparring sessions etc. It would be a great component to back up the lesson with application and also silence some of the critics here in the comments section that are critical without adding to the conversation.

As a drummer this makes perfect sense. Something similar happened when I had a crash course in horse riding .
Trot, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2.
canter, 123, 123, 123.
Gallop, 1234, 1234, 1234.
(I never got to galloping). I vaulted off during a canter to save falling. Woulda meant a head dive onto cobblestones if I hadn't. Muay thai probably much safer.

Another thing to point out is to be more square against your opponent with your stance DO not try to be paper thin with your stance or your defense and offense will be off balance.

I walked into an mma gym and asked if I could observe I was told I could and that was the lesson that was being taught, specifically for Muy Thai. I watched for about 10 minutes but I walked out with that knowledge and luckily I didn't have to pay anything the guy was kind enough to let me watch.

Now, if it was boxing then no you don't want to square up!
