A GPU Worth Waiting For
AMD and Intel could be selling GPUs with the performance of or near an RTX 4080 for as low as $600 or even $550 soon. If so then Nvidia will be in big trouble as that's around half the price they are currently selling the RTX 4080 for.

To be honest, the 7900xtx will get to $600 only when next gen gets released, so good luck waiting.

AMD saw the price inflated crazy on the 4080 and named their 7800 XT as 7900 XT/X so they can milk the most out of it. Both company are trash. Lets just hope Intel can put out more competition with their next gen GPU.

Both NVIDIA & AMD had massive backstock of last gen, I suspect at least some of the higher priced new gen was to encourage sales of last gen, it seems to be working too. Also they both have TONS of demand for ai chips to satisfy with their silicon. If I could afford it I'd buy a new gpu, but im just going to keep waiting, or get a used one, I see no sense in buying cheaper ones down the stack, they have to be replaced more often so end up costing more in the long run.

I'd get Intel in a hearbeat if it got around a 4070 Ti and was cheaper. My A770 still got some slight quirks. Hopefully this is ironed out come Battlemage.

If Nvidia wasn't greedy, 4080 should have been less than $800, given that, the fair price of 7900XTX should be less than $800 as it is targeting 4080. And less than $670 for 7900 XT being only 10-15% faster than 6950XT currently going for around $600 with offer inc.

No! smoking crack is dangerous. If Intel can make a card that beats 7900XT AND 4080 they will not sell it for $600, that would just be absured, and stupid. IF! And that is a big IF they make a card that good, it will at best be close to the lower of the two, but only if it equals or betters them. Gamers have a weird notion that GPU makers want to make as little money as humanly possible so that gamers never have to grow up.

This will be great when Nvidia releases the 5000 series for double the MSRP of the 4000 series with a performance boost of only 10-15%. Sad, I know.

I feel the 6950xt is a good deal right now for just $600. Yes it's last Gen, but the performance is amazing for the price.

Didn't they already "leak" that the new GPUs are cancelled? I was waiting for the 7950 XTX but I recall hearing news that these are all going to get dropped in favor of next gen which includes the Super line for RTX.

I'm definitely not against AMD and their AIB partners making a decent profit on their products... I'd be happy with a 7900 XT (which really should have been the 7800 XT) at $600, and a 7900 XTX at around $800. This would line up with a 6950 XT price to performance at $540. I think that would be a fair price, and if any of these cards New were to hit those prices, I'd probably buy one! It is the price/performance we all deserve after years of price gouging...
