Yep. I worked for a telecom equipment maker (Tellabs, back in the day) that had billion dollar products based mostly on physical design advantage. Nobody else bothered. And on 9/11 our giant switches were hanging by their cables carrying emergency traffic when the other stuff just choked on dust and gave up. You are completely right to praise these guys.

The revision of the port, 12V-2x6, already addressed this issue by making the conductor terminals longer and the sensor pins shorter, so it isn't nearly as likely to occur now

Asus has been doing that, my GTX 1080 had 2 lights letting me know if the cables were plugged in

The fact that this light is news is crazy, XFX cards have had indicator lights for the past few years

XFX 7900XTX already had this so good of Zotac to take that idea to the RTX cards

I would like to see smaller GPUs again. Only reason I have an RTX 4070 Super is because of the dual fan design with 4060 cooler on it. It's probably not as powerful as a 3 fan 4070 Super, but it fits my small case perfectly.
