When America was hit by 9/11 and all the people of Britain stood stalwartly by our side, I gained a new appreciation for your great country. I then proceeded to teach all my music classes Jerusalem! Love you my dear brothers and sisters across the sea.

God bless the British, who hung on in the darkest days of WWII and stood by America after 9/11.

Oh, oh my heart is in England . I went to England in 1963 for a year, fell in love, stayed 6 years. Fell in love with a guy in first week there, we we were together foe 43 years living in Sydney. The Lord needed him and he went to God in 2016. I'm now 77 and live with my beautiful cats. Love is forever.xxxx John

Not many songs make me as emotional and give me goosebumps like this one. Proudly Scottish. Fiercely British. 🇬🇧

As a Greek... I cannot tell you how much I'm moved by this beautiful song. I almost cried in the middle of the night watching this. God bless you.

How can anyone view this and not see that this is Britain, not what is being forced down our throats today (August 2024)

After hearing the passing of our beloved Queen Elizabeth II, I felt it necessary to revisit this gem. God bless her and god save her

This was, and remains the finest rendition of the national anthem I've ever heard. I remember being moved by it at the time. I wonder if anyone else has also picked up on the fact that this performance was exactly 10 years to the day before Her Majesty's passing. GSTQ LLTK

Just sitting here -- an American -- late at night, *weeping*, uncontrollably. They all stand up at once and sing, from memory, a hymn about working to turn their country into a New Jerusalem, a place where God -- His light and kindness and goodness -- dwells freely.

I used to always watch the last night of the Proms with my mother but she died in February that year and I had to watch this live on TV without her. 😢😢😢😢😢

I may be Australian by birth, but I'll always be an Englishman. To my brothers and sisters in the commonwealth, we are family.
