Sir, thanks to you i understood the topic.But i do have a doubt.
The extra bit we add(the parity bit) should it be placed in left or right side of the actual data ?? or does it even matter ??

in ODD parity...the number of ones should be odd right.?? then why you are adding 1 as parity bit... somebody please explain this...

What if tha data is unchanged but only parity bit is transmitted with error? How to detect this?
