I propagated a pothos from my grandparents that they had since well before I was born. It went from their home, to the nursing home and then with my dad once they passed away. It was looking really sad and like it was going to die as well, so I gave a piece to each of my siblings and propagated each in water until the roots were long enough. I transplanted mine to soil about 6 months ago and it's absolutely thriving. The fact that it came from the original plant they once had makes it that much more special as a plant rescue ❤️

I’ve also learned that Pothos specifically releases a hormone that will help other plant cuttings take root faster. So if you have a plant you’re trying to propagate, you can also add a pothos cutting so they’re rooting at the same time. I tested it with a few different plants that usually take a while to grow roots and it did noticeably speed up the time it took to see roots on the cuttings.

Thank you for this. Alot of other plant videos can be so confusing in their communication as to what you're supposed to do/where to cut

I don’t know if you’ve already did a video on soil but if you haven’t, could you do one on what type of soil to use for different plants if it not too much. Thank you for educating us I appreciate a lot ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I just snagged some pothos and snake plant clippings at my in laws family reunion. They were the great grandmothers plants and were passed down to her grandson. He has taken such good care of them for so long. I took about 20 pieces from the pothos and they’re almost ready to be potted. It’s exciting to know that we will be keeping the family plants alive in multiple homes.

Pothos is seriously my favorite family of plants UGH I could go on and on about why they’re so great. I’ve had my first pothos (devil’s ivy) for almost a year, and now I have a pothos n’joy and marble queen pothos. I propagated all three and put them in a pot together and omg I’m so excited to see how pretty it becomes.

A handy tip: don't have a big glass with a small opening, my roots broke when I tried to take the plant out, 2 weeks waisted 😅

My house has pothos everywhere I have it all my rooms in cases of water I have it in hanging pots outside. I live in SC I get mine used to the light outside like under a porch they grow crazy all year long then when season change if I have to cut them back just ends up making more. But I love plants not complaining

I recently got an agave pup that I want to grow, but all the roots had gotten ripped off when it was taken off the ground. It’s been about a week and it’s still surviving, and tips on growing new roots?

You gotta shatter those fudgers once they get roots, I stopped purchasing prop jars, especially funky ones like this year's ago, yes they're rad! BUT it legit breaks off those roots you so patiently acquired so breaking them is the only option unless you want to totally start over, not to mention cleaning them properly takes HOURS. Rinse them all you want, overtime they absolutely will develop a film/algae build up. I just use regular glasses or recycled jars, dollar tree has some super dope mini Mason jars, etc. that are perfect! But to each there own! If something works for you personally, regardless of what any grower says then keep doing it! Half the fun of plants is experimenting ❤
