I like how I am like “wow that is so cool I wish I was there” but in reality if I was actually there I would have a heart attack.😂😂

2:40 You are wrong. Lightning bolts actually start from the ground going up to the clouds. This is because the positive electrons go down on tall stuff and come up to the negative electrons in the cloud. This is because positive electrons connect.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the amount of cool and educational stuff we get to learn each week from this channel? History and Discovery channels got some competition 👍

The high waves remind me of my very first cruise back in 2015. We got caught in a storm going from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico up to Los Angeles, CA. The storm was so intense that the front of the ship was going up and down probably 100 feet from the swells. It emptied all the pools on deck, furniture was flying everywhere, and people were getting sick all over the place. Thankfully, my cruise partner and I don't suffer from sea sickness, so we enjoyed every moment of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure! I count myself lucky that it was just a large enough storm to give us a thrill we'd never forget.

I have been in a dust storm which turned day into night and caused street lights to automatically come on. This was in an outback town in Australia in 2009.

Rented a condo at Orange Beach, AL a few years ago. 22nd floor. Thunderstorm rolled in and from our balcony we counted 7 waterspouts across the water that formed at the same time.

At one point, I was swimming at a beach near Lincoln City, Oregon, in one of those little mini rivers down to the ocean, I was building a dam just for fun, you know, normal stuff. Then there was some weird foam that came down, it was a strange grey colour but I just assumed it was just algae foam. But as we were leaving the beach that day, my dad got a notification on his phone that there had been a sewage leak and it was advised that no one get in the water. I held back my vomit and showered so much my skin wrinkled when I got home. 🤢🤢🤢

Being in India, Delhi, I've experienced dust storms many times but they aren't as severe, though you can experience a yellowish-orange hue while being inside it.

With the river flowing backwards part: the Mississippi River has flowed backwards at least four times due to weather/natural disasters. In 1811-12 due to earthquakes, 2005 due to hurricane Katrina, 2012 due to hurricane Issac (which caused it to flow backwards for 24hrs) and most recently in 2021 due to hurricane Ida. I just thought this was interesting so I decided to share.

I got to experience a dust storm earlier this year in South Dakota. Even though it was 5 : 30 in the afternoon, it was as dark as night outside. It knocked my town's power out for a day and a half.

2:55 if i remember right, there was a guy who had a camera built for taking timelapse of lightning and found out that the lightning start both from the clouds and the ground, basically meeting in the middle.

There’s sandstorms/monsoons like that in Arizona every year. They can get pretty scary. Especially if you’re on the highway and can’t see the car in front of you😂😅
