The sink hole guy must be insane. The moment I see it sinking, I'm taking off with speed. You don't know how big it can get, and how quickly it can open up. Very careless from him

I'm no volcanologist, but I've seen hot smoke come rolling down the sides of volcanoes engulfing people in heat of several hundred degrees. Now, I don't know what the conditions are that make that happen or not happen and maybe these guys do, but just in case, I think I would have been running in the opposite direction.

I hiked to the mouth of the crater of Mt Etna in the late 90s while I was in the US Navy. It was very interesting seeing the lava in the crater.

I can never understand people who stand around to watch sink holes. They are not worried the hole will open under their feet?

I really appreciate the narrator being quiet to let us just take in the shear beauty and power of it.

5:40 in retrospect, the world probably would've benefited greatly had that city just been flooded off the map

I had a similar thing as 2:43 happen to me near Pella, Iowa in the mid-1990s. I was driving my pickup truck along the highway, and noticed that slush-balls were hitting the windshield. I thought this interesting, but they soon turned into baseball sized hail! I quickly pulled over as the storm pummeled my truck (leaving dimples from nose to tail) and severely cracking my windshield. I saw a poor UPS truck across the highway, with the driver holding his hands over his ears as the hail beat his truck like a drum! Good times.

On a Navy ship in the Pacific in 1968, we had seas that were worse than the video shown here. And the ship I was on was nearly 700 feet long, 75 feet wide and with a 35 foot draft. The bow was 50 feet out of the water under normal conditions but was buried several times during this storm, with water coming all the way back to the forward superstructure. It was pretty damn scary.

I worked at a body shop in northern Utah around 2005 when we had a record hail storm in one city and it caused thousands of cars to be totaled out because of there being so much body damage across all surfaces. It was crazy. Some of the car dealerships had all their inventory damaged beyond repair.

Imagine the terror of that North Sea storm hitting a ship in the pitch black of night.

volcanologist 1: Yo, it's erupting and throwing up ash. It could really blow at any moment.

Volcanologist 2: Nah, we're good, we'll just keep shooting pics with our camera phones.

Volcano: Sorry, just a little indigestion, but if I'd farted you guys would be dead...

To be on the sea during a storm like that would be so awesome and terrifying at the same time. Those waves are huge, it must of felt like a roller coaster.

That motorcyclist cleared that landslide. On the last take of him going through, you can see him plenty far enough away from it.

From Wikipedia: "The 1888 Moradabad Hail was a severe hailstorm that occurred on 30 April 1888 in Moradabad, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It had the highest mortality associated with a hailstorm, and killed 246 people, 1600 cattle and sheep with hailstones as large as “goose eggs and oranges and cricket balls. The hailstones were reportedly as big as oranges and in some places accumulated to up to 2 feet in height."

Reminds me of George Carlin when he says: “people who build their home right next to an active volcano…and wonder why they have lava in their living room”.

Volcanoes randomly throw giant blobs of lava, sometimes several miles from the volcano. It just shows the way humans gravitate to disaster, like people who stand on the beach watching the whirlpool before a Tsunami.
