I am a chiropractor with 23 years experience. And I agree with these guys. In fact I have completely reworked my protocols to make movement and fitness my main focus. I still adjust but only to get people ready and able to get on the floor and start improving their movement.

My chiro changed my life forever, they did a complete family history check, my diet, exercising and doing what and how exactly, x-rays galore, focused on one spot at a time than just a cure all, gave me a plan of how their going to cure me, looked at my shoes, my work and the type of floors, my footing, EVERYTHING. They bring me in to deep massage me, than put on electric pads, than put me in ice or hot bath depends, gets me into pt, than stretching and proper exercise, than I see my Dr and we go over every single problem and what needs to be focused on mostly to fix the problem. Basically filtering out the real main issue and going from there. Than adjusts me on the area that needs it, than gives me anything to help, brace, foot cushion, foam roller etc. That's a good chiro who doesn't want to keep seeing you forever and wants to prevent surgery and one who cares to the core on your daily well being

Been a corrective chiropractic physician for 16 years, and if you do not address "the cause" to a patients problem you are lacking. Totally on point. Well Done guys!

As a practicing chiropractor, I agree about getting to the root cause. The root cause is not always poor biomechanics. Often the root cause of poor biomechanics is diminished sensory-motor function. There are other factors on top of that too.

As a chiro student. I wholeheartedly AGREE with this video. We are taught so many treatment modalities and our scope of practice is massive. Too many old school factory line chiros out there ruining it for us. Good video

As a chiropractor now retired after 43 years in practice I totally agree with these guys!

There are lot of confusing things about chiropractic which has often given us a bad rap. Since retiring and being fully aware of the problems with chiropractic I am currently writing a book titled the Enigma of Chiropractic. Watch for the publication once it is released. Thanks guys!

Interesting point.. I've definitely been in convos with chiropractors that have felt too salesy and not enough focused on health. Good tips!

They’re not a bad chiropractor for doing their job, which is to adjust the spine. That’s what they’re trained to do. They’re not trained coaches and insurance doesn’t cover a lot of therapeutic exercise for chiros so they stay in their lane. I’ve done open room adjusting with 5 minutes per patient for a lot of years. Most chiro patients don’t want a lot of time, I don’t either. Adjust me and send me on my way. It’s a tool to help with training, period. Every patient needs to be training. Sure I believe in a magical office where I can spend an hour with each patient but most patients refuse to work on their biomechanics even when I explain to them the same issues over and over and over so guess what … they get popped and I say have a nice day. I pick my battles. But don’t judge us for doing what we’re trained to do.

The vast majority of chiropractors do give their patients proper “at home” protocols and lifestyle recommendations including corrective exercises, diet, sleep etc. However, patient compliance is sometimes a problem. Also chiropractic alignments do more than just relieve pain, but actually improve the entire health potential by relieving stress off of the muscles, joints, nerves, and organs connected to those nerves. Studies prove that regular visits to the chiropractor are an essential part of a healthy lifestyle.

Great advice I was going to a chiropractor and he not only adjusted me but he explained what my issues were. He also gave me some exercises to do at home that would help me with my pain. He also didn't adjust me until he had evaluated me I had x rays and he was able to identify my issues. The only reason I quit going to the chiropractor is insurance didn't cover it and it was becoming costly.

I've had three L5/S1 subluxations (partial dislocation) over 61 years from over training. Immediately stopped when I felt the pain. Went straight to the chiropractor the next day and got realigned. No herniated discs ever and have the lumber spine of a five year old with X-ray proof. If you leave it or push through the pain, like Ronny Coleman, your next stabbing pain will be a disc herniation. I also had a stiff neck from not going to a chiropractor for multiple whiplashes and concussions from rugby, bicycle and motorcycle accidents and at 59 the chiropractor fixed it. If you have neck pain or a stiff neck after an accident and you think it's just a pulled muscle your body produces bone spurs to immobilise your spine to protect the spinal cord. If you have repeated whiplashes and concussions and do not get adjusted your cervical discs will progress from stage 1 arthritis (normal disc thickness but misaligned vertebrae) to stage 4 (total cervical disc fusion). It takes about 20 to 30 years.

Have to mention all the ligament damage that going to chiropractors regularly can cause, and bones chipping off. Especially when they never find out why you keep going right back out. I had a serious jaw injury that I didn't realize was causing my whole spine misalignments. My body kept referring pain down other parts of my spine. So I would go to the chiropractor constantly, then go right back out that very day. Now the ligaments in my neck are like stretched limp rubber bands.

I'm a chiropractor. This treatment isn't all about cracking only, the same science that guide physiotherapist also guide chiropractor, which is knowledge about human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and pathology. You don't just crack when not require. An x-ray will reveal if you need to be adjust, in fact vital sign such as blood pressure and any cardiac conditions should be verify because patient like these might not be able to absorb pressure on thoracic during prone position. Same with diabetic and osteoporosis patients. We help people in pain by interfere with wrong neurotransmission between afferent and efferent, stimulate energy, support vasodilation and manually bring muscles to it resting state to aid relaxation, We don't just do what comes to our head but we apply science just like every other medical professionals.

And to further explain …. Not everyone has the discipline or compliance for the exercise part so they still want to experience the passive component. Not all conditions require exercise to gain benefits, that’s fact. Adjustments are a form of spine mobilization which is good for the discs, the joints between bones, and it helps to destreza the nervous system out of sympathetic response, scientific fact.

I am a chiropractor with 17 years experience. I don't sell subluxations. I agree that difference people may need a different approaches to care. Some need exercise as part of their rehab. Some need modalities(ultrasound, stim, shockwave, laser, massage, acupuncture, nutritional, counselling, etc). But please don't fall in the exercise fixes all of the root problem nonsense because it is definitely not.

I slipped my disk at work and I didn't know what to do. I was in agony and the next morning I couldn't get out of bed I was really concerned for the health of my back at only 29 years old. I saw a well know distinguished fellow ( a master) named Paul Bruno and American chiro in Perth Australia. 15 minutes with him and he fixed my skipped disk. They work he works and it's all legitimate work. 99% back to perfection in my spine now

I had mild pain in my rhomboid that grew when a chiropractor convinced me i needed to stop lifting weight and go to him to get my back cracked until it heals. This guy altered the trajectory of my life so much because he had no idea how to teach me how to strengthen and stabilize the weak areas that had pressed nerves and bulging discs. Please god if you are reading this.. advise against going to get cracked at a chiro. You need to MOVE and strengthen safely. They studied tribes who carry stuff on their heads their whole life, they have crooked spines but no PAIN because their core is STRONG, external rotators are STRONG, hips and glutes STRONG and FUNCTIONAL

I went to a chiropractor once. All he did was crack my neck, back, use a massage gun and a drop table. After 5 sessions, I stopped going. Each session became shorter but cost the same as the first visit which was longer. About 30 minutes. Every other session was about 15 minutes each time. I didn't feel any different from the first visit. I haven't been to one since.

I saw a guy the other day that told me that he had seeing his chiropractor for 32 years. My thought was after 32 years he still hasn’t fixed you.

I have been a chiro assistant for years now. I absolutely love seeing the people that get results in such a short amount of time. I’ve had ladies walking in crying because they have thrown their back out and 2-3 adjustments later they are walking completely upright as if it had never happened. Yes there are some out there who are in it for the money and don’t give a crap about the patient AVOID THEM!!!! Read reviews, look for ones who have had patients for years. They are out there. But people need to remember you won’t be perfect on the first adjustment, just like I tell some people, you don’t go to a gym one time and walk out with a 6-pack. Please just do research and don’t give up because it is a great a wonderful practice. It works even better when doing it in combo with other practices, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture they are peanut butter and jelly. They are both good solo but even better together!
