We have this on a 45. Covers both sides. The day the music died is referring to the day we lost Buddy Holly, Richie Valance & The Big Bopper in a plane crash. It shocked the music world.

You've got the Bass man confuzzled a tiny bit. First singer sings bass to tenor Adam Chance with a 4 octave range. The last verse was Tim Foust Basso Profundo 5 octave range. Awesome reaction! Thanks for checking our guys out. Us Home Fries love our gentlemen.

So, I originated approximately 100 miles from Home Free’s “home town!” of Mankato Minnesota. These are MY GUYS!!! I’ve seen them 3 times in concert and remember rooting for them on Season 4 of The Sing Off!!! Anything they do is absolutely golden! I concur with every single other comment!! JUST DO IT! Start from the beginning if needs must. You’ll soon be singing songs out of “season, ” laughing until you cry and crying because you just can’t help yourself!! You CAN NOT go wrong proceeding down this path!!!

Don McLean is now 75. American Pie was released 50 years ago so this is sort of an anniversary remake. Don said he wanted to do the remake with Home Free because he felt "they understand harmonies". Yep, Tim is the bass, but can sing tenor as well. When he's singing lead, Chance (Adam Chance) takes over the bass line. He can sing almost as low as Tim. If you think they're great in the videos, you should hear them in person. I got to see them live for the first time about 2 weeks ago. So good! Tim hit a couple of low notes that made my seat vibrate. (I was in the 2nd row.) At the end of their encore, he hit a massive low note that made the floor vibrate (I was standing) and my chest hurt.

Ok
You know Austin Brown - high tenor
Adam Rupp- beat boxer/percussionist- high tenor, but can do bass
Rob Lundquist- lead tenor (bearded man)
Tim Foust- bass but has a 8 octave range
Adam Chance- baritone but has a 5 octave range
You will also see, in older videos, Chris Rupp, Adam Rupp's older brother. He usually wore a cowboy hat. He is a tenor, but could do baritone. He has his own page now & doing well with that.

Nicely done once again.
You know and love high tenor Austin Brown
Lead tenor Rob Lundquist has the big beard and wears glasses
Co-founder Adam Rupp is the vocal percussionist and has a lovely tenor voice as well
Tim Foust is the main bass beast but as you mentioned he has a freakish 5 octave range and often ventures well into the tenor range
Adam Chance ("Chance" to avoid confusion), like Tim is a beastly bass with a wide range, he replaced co-founder Chris Rupp, Adam's brother
Tim and Chance often tag-team the lows, sometimes in mid-phrase.
Basically, they're all secret weapons. Or maybe not-so-secret.

You gotta hear Tim Foust (the bass) sing in his falsetto on Austins channel he and Austin collabeed a couple of weeks ago on a classic, calleed "My Maria 1st sung by the writer BW Stevenson in 1973, then a cover in the 1990's by Brooks & Dunn, and now this...it's beeter than the two originals....you'll be blown away just search for Austin Brown My Maria

They all have amazing voices separately. But thank goodness they found each other and firmed Home Free.

Let's all agree that Adam's 8+minutes of beatbox throughout is outstanding too

The bass - Tim Foust - was the last to sing, he is a rich basso profundo who rattles chairs and sometimes breaks soundsystems when he goes "really" low, but here he sings the lead as a tenor showing off his 5 octave range. The fist to sing was Adam Chance, he is the baritone but he covers bass whenever Tim is taking lead, he has a pretty wide range too.

If you haven't already, you need to do their version of "How Great Thou Art!!!!" The visuals and HARMONIES are OUT OF THIS

Actually, they have 2 guys with 4+ octave range who can sing from bass up to tenor. Chance (the first singer from Home Free to solo) has a bass voice that isn't quite as low as Tim's but can sing to a higher tenor than Tim. You know Austin. Rob is the one with the full beard, and Adam is the beatboxer. The higher harmonies are about 95% of the time, Rob and Austin. But Chance can hit those too if they aren't at the very upper limit. For an idea of Tim (the deep bass)'s range, watch Snow Globe. He sings tenor lead. Watch their cover of Can't Stop the Feeling and you can see Chance sing tenor notes, but watch their covers of Mayday and Can't Outrun You and you'll see him hitting baritone/bass notes.

I love their arrangements because they pay serious homage to the original songs. You can hear and feel the original tunes. Yes their ranges are insane but the arrangements fill up the “soundstage” that our ears are used to hearing performed by instruments. Amazing! Great reaction!

The first guy that sang in Home Free was Chance, their Baritone/bass (he can go low and high also), but the super low 5- octave range bass you were referring to is Tim. He's the one with dark hair and a patch of gray (and what some people call, "resting bass face" lol!)

I'd love to see your take on a double feature... God Bless the USA.. their older video with just them and then the newer one they just did recently WITH Lee Greenwood and the US Air Force Singing Sergeants'. They both are amazing!! Thanks~

You are right... Home Free live is also perfect... Well usually... There have been times that lyrics have been forgotten, especially by Austin, but he just sings "I forgot the words" in the space just perfectly and the song just continues..
