Heyo! Mitch and Day here 👋🏼

We’re just your typical American-Colombian couple determined to live every second of our precious time here on earth to the fullest. After a 10-month solo backpacking trip through South America, I (Mitch) stopped in Cali, Colombia to take salsa dancing classes 💃🏻. I only planned to stay for a couple weeks, but God had other plans for me. I met a cute Colombian girl (Day) in class, those couple weeks turned into a couple years, and before we knew it...we were married 👰🏻🤵🏼

Now we’re traveling the world full time as digital nomads, supporting ourselves by working online 👨‍💻👩‍💻

Our goal with these videos is to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, give you an inside peek at our crazy imperfect lives, and show you that you don’t have to be rich to live an extraordinary life...all you need to do is make the choice!

Love the book reading, and studying course recommendations 😎👍

Traveling with kids is whole different ballgame. With babies the whole goal os to keep the baby calm and quiet, parents hate to see their babies suffer and dealing with people who better never become parents because they can't understand that babies cry when they feel flight pressure, and when traveling with kids it's to keep them entertained and well behaving.

Kids are relatively easier because most of them won't simply cry just for the sake of it, and it can be a good quality parent and child time. Yes pack your child's tablet/iPad with all the offline content anyways, but bring a few practical things such as uno cards, checkers/chess travel board, those with magnetized pieces preferably, coloring books and crayons. A healthy mixture of practical and digital things to do will allow parents to do more of that they want/need while letting the children enjoy the flight experience.

I started my daughter on photography, gave her own point-and-shoot camera, and gave her a few pointers how to photograph things and views, and she's actually improving where I might give her a more serious camera at some point.

And I can't say enough about taking turns while sacrificing where you can for the sake of the family. No parent singlehandedly should be entertaining the kids while the other does nothing, be a team, and take one for the team from time to time, but family is always a teamwork.

Personality I despise turbulence, I actually got in a very violent turbulence with Malaysia Airlines right after both flights disappeared, and that really screw my turbulence tolerance, so I can't say enough it never hurts to pray to God, ask your wishes, ask for safety, read religious books. Faith is something calming and gives one a reminder that we constantly have God watching out for us, it gives us confidence that whatever is happening is temporary and nothing bad remains without good following through. So even if you're not religious, it's worth giving faith a try.

Thanks for the great video and tips 😎👍

Im scared of flights and my favorite thing to do when flying is listening to my Christian Playlist while praying in my mind. It help me to feel better, calm and be grateful for everything. Also listening to podcast of the history or things about the country I am visiting. 👌🏻

I paint mini (3”x3”) watercolor paintings in flight. I sign my paintings and I write on the back the flight information “painted in flight DFW to LAX (date)” then I give it to my seat mate or a flight attendant. If a flight attendant, I also write “Thank you for all you do to keep us safe in the air!”

People enjoy getting free art❤

Offline task lists for the win! I learned (the hard way) that my task management program requires online access, so not only do my tasks need to be offline-friendly, but so too does the list ;-)

Love the meaningful reading suggestion! I too do this, searching out authors of both novels and first-person stories. I reread the Jane Austin library and watched all the Pride and Prejudice movies before a trip to England in the 200th anniversary year (we didn’t pick the trip destination for that reason, just a coincidence)

I was due to go to Cambodia in 2020 so I read a graphic novel called Year of the Rat, also autobiographical about a Khmer Rouge survivor…obviously I didn’t get to go for “some” reason. I will go though! Thanks for the channel it’s superb! Shame the algorithm only told me about it AFTER my Thailand trip. I hope to go to Borneo soon, so will use your advice then! Also do you have any tips for packing camera gear? Bit niche but there are some of us still out there.

I stay up all night without sleep. I went on airline. I sleep all the way to Japan from Los Angeles ( approx 11 hours).

Getting closer to my 9 hour flight to the UK in coach, I will probably sleep most of it since it is a night flight there, but these were super helpful.

I love traveling but HATE long haul flights as the typical methods of passing time does not work for me. As a person that wears hearing aids, I find it difficult to find headphones that work with my hearing aid to allow me to watch movies or listen to music. Plus, I rarely am able to fall asleep on these flights so I'm often just playing the stupid games the airline provides or downloading games on my device. I really appreciate the tips you provided in this video as some of the ideas do not require the ability to listen. Any other suggestions you or any of your viewers can suggest would be extremely helpful as I have a (gulp) 17-hour flight coming up soon. Thank you.
