Never sit behind a summo wrestler in economy. Longest flight of my life as he strained, shifted and pushed off the seat in front of him with his seat back millimeters from my nose. How that seat didn't break is amazing. I was convinced I was going to die.

My wife teases me, but for our 2 week trip to Hawaii I laid everything out on the guest bed a month before the trip. I made a checklist. There were things I wanted to add, I ordered them, tried them out, some I used some I didn’t. I was good to go to the airport.

Her sister was staying with us the night before the trip. She showed up 4 hrs late at 10 pm to our house with a garbage bag of dirty clothes that needed to be washed for the trip.

I added an Apple AirTag to my luggage and knew exactly where my luggage was. Saw you mentioned lost luggage.

Thanks, although a family with 2 kids and 2 adults go for the 4 seats middle . No stranger trying to get out past you and also to stop any little escapees

We flew from Auckland to Houston a few years ago with Air New Zealand, hubby and I both sat on the aisle seats, both of us had a spare seat each way and you could still talk to each other. Highly recommend Air New Zealand 🇳🇿

I wish people would stop recommending seat guru as a travel professional this is a really bad tool. People expect it to be accurate and it isn't at all and people argue with me.

My game plan is typically to pick an aisle seat. That way, I don't have to be disturbed when row mates have to get up. When they get up, if i feel like I have to use the restroom or it's been a whole, I'll go to. I do tend to get up less that others, so it works for me.
I also use a sking for my feet, compression sicks, and do ankle pumps every so often to help reduce the risk of clotts.

Great tips Chris! I find choosing the best airline makes a huge impact the difference in space and hidden costs (like charging for seat selection or taking hold luggage). From my experience the Arab airlines are the best and if flying transatlantic then Virgin is hands down the best option. We always look at Seat Guru too!

When I was 11 I flew on a *BIG* plane, from Denver, I think it was Air Canada.
I was loaded first (by the Paramedics) into the bulkhead row and outfitted with a mattress insert, sheets, pillows, slippers, hot towels, snacks, a foam wedge and a super soft blanket.
It was like magic, and I felt like a princess.
A Nurse travelled with me in a bulkhead seat across the aisle. The Nurse even brought me a couple "teen" celebrity magazines, so I felt ever so cosmopolitan and grown up 🤣

A couple decades later we flew with WestJet for one of my childrens' "Wish Trip", with "Make-A-Wish".
Holy cow, they took SUCH good care of us!
😮
Airplane crews are amazing, and it is very cool how they can customize some seats. ❤️

There is NO air flowing through a exit door. Its perfectly airtight. Its often cooler because the aircon vents in those areas are fully open where many passengers close theirs. It assists cabin ventilation. The lack of overhead luggage is a perfect location of the aircon units above exit rows

My favourite fellow passenger on my last flight was the mother who told her kid to stop kicking my seat. If the kid refuses to stop, ask the person sitting behind the kid to kick the kids' seat for a while. That might get the message across.

I travel a lot and thought I had it down. But recently found your channel and have learned so much including a great crossbody bag brand that’s slash resistant, didn’t think of noise canceling head phones for flights, and numerous others. Thanks for the great content

Clothing-wise, I go for t-Shirt and sweatjacket and sweatpants; jacket and pants with zip-pockets for things I want to be safe and not grab to often, t-Shirt with a chest pocket for more frequently used staff (e.g. boarding pass or earbud case prior to boarding (over ear ANC on the plane, obviously))

Great info!! Thank you so much. Getting ready for a 17 hour flight and an additional 5 hours after changing planes. For sure using many of your ideas.

I like my 3-in-1 ski jacket on planes, especially late fall to early spring. The pieces can be added or removed as needed, the zippered pockets turn it into an extra personal item, and it can be used as a blanket replacement.

Great recommandations. Even if I feel pretty much familiar with that. Interesting that the SAS airline was mentioned. I traveled twice from SFO to Copenhagen and that was one of the cleanest aircrafts I ever experienced. Even in the eco class enough legroom and the food was okay so far. Heading to Europe I always avoid to fly with Lufthansa and Delta. United and American Airlines are acceptable and if possible, I'd recommend Air France. Unbelievable, how good their food and their drinks are while on
