Founded in 1991, Orania was established as a separate community for Afrikaners, a group of South Africans descended from Dutch, French, and German settlers who speak Afrikaans as their first language. The town's founders were motivated by a desire to preserve Afrikaner culture and language, which they saw as under threat in post-apartheid South Africa. I think such a town is allowed to exist in South Africa now is because the government has no serious issues with it.

Otherwise, it wouldn't take long to enact a law forbidding such only-white towns. After that, it wouldn't take long to cut off electricity and water to Orania and bring it to its knees!

I find it wrong to allow such areas to exist in South Africa after so much sacrifice and loss of life that took place to remove the racist apartheid system.

But if the black-majority government has no problem, then we can't object either.

Your documentary is wrong an English white South african may not live in Oranja. The history of black violence in SA was a major reason for segregation. People are tired of the crime, we work pay taxes but have no services, in a country with 70 crime related murders a day, mostly home invasions car jackings etc all groups want an oranje, we going back to segregation because some elements dont have respect for cuvic duty and respect for other citizens.Americans leave Afrixa aline and stop spreading misinformation worry about your own horrible problems. To those pointing fingers; in Africa you have many countries where whites aren't allowed citizenship. Liberia for example. Not to mention countries like Mauritania, another non-whites allowed country, only outlawed slavery in 1982. Yes, nineteen eighty two.

You "forgot" to say they BOUGHT the land and built the place. It's privately owned. Their property = their rules. If you have some land and a house, do you want anyone tell you who must live with you? No, it's up to you who you allow to enter and under what condition.
