Thanks so much for watching today’s video, I hope you enjoy it. What is hermeneutics? Hermeneutics is the art of interpretation and understanding. Let’s talk about some of the history of the development of hermeneutics along with important thinkers that would frame the contemporary understanding of hermeneutics such as Heidegger, Gadamer, Ricoeur, and Derrida and then finish with a few words on the concept of authority.

Thank you Dr. B :) I've been studying on my own and I trust you as an information source. I hope that's okay. I had been studying from the OT and the NT, and then I got interested in the intertestamental period and that might have been a misstep. Lol, it's like there is a tornado in my head that is composed of dates and how people felt about language and what other symbols were being used and the apocrypha and well, I'll figure it all out, but I just wanted to thank you for exploring things that quite frankly most people aren't talking about. While learning is a gas, it's also mind-blowing. I just wanted to say thanks for being such a fine leader on this trek. By the way, I appreciate the idea that this exploration has a circular sense, but I'm thinking it's more like the infinity symbol.
