Yep. I was taught that the Bible is to be read literally, historically, grammatically, and in context ..then the prophetic can always be understood by comparing scripture with scripture ( like Daniel with Revelation one example)..all scripture thanks

When I first got saved, I believed all kinds of crazy things. Part of it was because I was still unlearning my pagan mystic beliefs and practices. The problem is that most people just don’t take the time to even open their Bibles, that’s what took me so long to learn what scripture said. Now whenever I teach the kids at my church, I always tell them that everything needs to go back to the Bible when it comes to our beliefs and doctrines. Whenever they have questions, we all go to the Bible together, and let scripture say what it says. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what we think or feel when it comes to our beliefs. The only thing that matters is what the word of God says. Bless you for making this video brother. Also would you mind pointing me towards some good sources to study when it comes to the history of the Bible? I know a little bit, but I would love to expand and learn more.

Yes, this is a very important subject . For example, as Christians we read the Old Testament in the light of the NT accomplishment in Jesus Christ . Otherwise we risk mixing up a lot of things, and applying biblical verses which are not directly for us ( although we can learn many principals about our faith from them)

People are always looking for Bible passages to fit what they think God has told them, or they apply passages to themselves in a wrong way; we know it’s wrong but it’s so hard to explain to them what they are doing

Well done! The basic hermenutical option is: 1. Scripture says what it says.
Or 2. Scripture doesn't really say what it says. I'm going with #1, but these days #2 is very popular...

I've lost count of the times I've been discussing the interpretation of scripture and the other party throws out all these big words that I didn't understand... now there are a few less that they can use! Thanks for that.

In Vacation Bible school one year, long time ago, I learned a little song “Say my friends have you seen, 11Timothy 2:15. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 tells you exactly WHAT TO DO!! I’m 74 and never forgot it.😀

Well said, Important to remember, holy scripture is not written to us but it is for us, to apply biblical principles to our lives, to grow in grace & the knowledge of the truth. The bible is filled w/ symbolic & figurative/metaphoric language

Most know to read the Bible in context BUT what many do not know is that the context of the New Testament is in fact the Old Testament.
