Left right right left with steering wheel method

Reverse until you’re past car
(First turn left)

When car is diagonal
(Right turn)

When car back door touches curb (right turn again

When you’re in straight line
(Finish with left turn )

I use a similar method but after the 1st turn towards the curb i straighten the wheel when at a 45 degree angle and then move back in a straight line until I’m near the curb and then i full lock it to the right, usually helps me get a bit closer to the curb than this method.

Try lining your body up with the front bumper of the other car, about car door length out. Half turn until curd is about to disappear then full lock the other way. You dont take up that much space into the road and you dont have to look through your windshield until you check you are straight.

If only I could find a space that by on my road. I have a vw polo 9n and I have to park in a space less than 1.2x my car length, usually leaving 30cm space between my end and front to the other cars. I spend like 10 minutes getting it right and not hitting a parked car. The most stressful part of driving for me is praying there's a big enough spot.

Actually, why are we required to look all around?
We should probably only look backwards and in our mirrors from time to time.

The chances are, everyone coming from ahead will actually see us reversing and stop.
And all pedestrians in front of us are not in any danger from us, it's only the pedestrians and cyclists behind us.

All that looking around makes me miss my 2o'clock EVERY TIME.
