Reverse Parallel Parking | 2024 UK Driving Test Manoeuvres

Reverse parallel parking is a really useful skill for any driver, as it will often be needed in urban areas. In addition, the U.K. Driving Test includes the option of the Reverse Parallel Parking Manoeuvre, so it’s worth taking the time to perfect our technique. In this video, we’ll show an overview of the manoeuvre from outside the car, a more detailed view from inside the car, and a few extra tips to help while you’re learning.

My instructor has confused me with this manoeuvre by making it seem overly complicated and breaking it up into too many steps, but this 1-2-1 method has really helped me understand what I need to do. I’ve got a driving lesson this afternoon so I’ll give this a go, thanks. Wish me luck!

Hi guys, for this move, always make sure to check your blind spot and out the back window and all around the car - a lot of students get stuck as they focus so much on the side windows rather than looking all around. Good luck!

I passed my test today and wanted to say a huge thanks as parallel parking was an area I really struggled with as I never knew when to turn the wheel right and I struggled with the angle, but by watching this video I understood that I needed to wait for the curb to disappear in the left mirror. I didn’t get parallel park in my test, but this really helped!

With my former driver instructors, she taught me this 1-2-1 technique but new instructor taught me 1 full lock to the left and 1 full lock to the right and made it easier to remember...

Thank you, i had to Reverse Parallel Park today on my lesson for the first time, and on the first attempt my instructor said i nailed it, and then on the 2nd he said i must be a perfectionist as i completed it perfectly, all thanks to your explanation.
