Reverse Parallel Parking (pizza slice method) - UK Driving Test Manoeuvres

Показать описание

How to do reverse parking step-by-step guide. The object of this parking manoeuvre is to parallel park behind another vehicle within the space of 2 car lengths, reasonably close to the kerb and parallel to it, whilst looking out for other road users. You might have to reverse park on your UK practical driving test.

We have a look at how using an imaginary slice of pizza can help you parallel park.

On your driving test you're allowed a 2-car length gap to park in so don't be afraid to use it all if needed and you're allowed to drive forward if you have to correct your parking (although you may get a driving fault for this).

How to do parallel parking - The 1-2-1 method is:
One whole turn to the left to bring the back of the car in.
Two whole turns to the right to bring the front in.
One whole turn to the left to straighten the wheels.

If you feel that you're getting too close to the kerb, then steer more to right.

Too far from the kerb then steer more to the left.

Observe around continuously, stopping for any approaching road user.

If all else fails, then drive forward and perfect the parking.

These tips will hopefully help you drive safely and pass your driving test.

Never seen a driving instructor mention you can adjust your mirror to see the kerb in your driving test. That’s a massive help. Thank you!

I've been taught to fully steer to the left once I start turning. And then to fully turn it to the right once I start turning back. But traffic's a lot more busy in my country and you have to squeeze yourself into small spaces.

Videos like these can make one feel like they can practice without an instructor. They even make maltitudes of people pass their driving tests. Imagine taking driving lessons with Chris as a complete beginer. Won't be able to drive like a within a week? Chris is something else.

You are doing great work man.

I remember doing this method with my past instructor. And it was hard when the instructor is not that cool.

Done eveything but we did not do much maneuvers. And it messed my confidence.

Looking back, I did wish that I continued on cause now its hard to get the test with all the back log cause of covid.

But ye really about confidence and good instructor.

Now thinking of doing my test again. These videos are proving to be really helpful!
