I have just started playing pickleball a lot recently and your videos have been helping out a lot, and I was wondering if you have any portable nets that you would recommend?

Great content. Thanks. Got your Dinkmaster sheet on a board in my garage and it works great since I can’t find players who put drilling above playing Rec.

Very helpful. Thank you for your time. I’m a new player in St. Louis Missouri. Hello from the Midwest

Can you explain why the continental grip is superior? I have a western grip from tennis and I'm having a lot of trouble changing it. I would use continental for my serves and switch for volleys once I was up in tennis, but I feel like I have so much less time to change it in pickleball during a point. Some mental model of why it will help my shots might give me the motivation I need.

It's extremely important to drill. You should be drilling twice as much as you play. Yes, it's fun to play games, but hard to work on skills.

How do you handle the players that aim for the face or upper body when I'm close up to the net?
Thanks for all your great videos!

The "issue #1" of the wrong grip for volley is interesting. I watched a video and the guy recommended that grip for what he called a scorpion volley and he says some pro use it! I chuckled at that. Also that grip is used by a few players I watched on videos up to the 3.5 level but after that I don't see any high level player using it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is when I watch these, I want to figure out how to exploit that weakness. Do I want to hit the ball low to the backhand volley since it is hard for them to open the face of the paddle with that grip. Do I drive hard to the backhand volley because the same, they tend to hit the ball back low into the net? Even attackable ball is hard since they can't roll the backhand volley

Point #2: I can usually tell whether a new player has any potential just by the way they stand. If their "ready" position looks like they're waiting for a bus, probably not. If they look like they're about to pounce- you got something to work with.

Point 5 (?) about fixing your problems. I have told so many newbies to work on their drop shots, even though it's probably going to cost us this game. I know players that have played _years_ and still cannot do a 3rd shot drop. I even know of a couple that got it down, and then, for some reason, went back to lobbing everything.

I'm self taught, other than watching a _lot_ instructional videos and matches on YouTube and I may not be a great player, but I don't make these mistakes.

Great instruction videos! May consider: “mental focus” during the game! 👍🏻👍🏻
