Len...your videos are always so informative and awesome. I also love the sound effects too “bonk bonk” ....keep up the great work. It’s because of these videos that I’ve become a 1a Auto customer.

Raise your hand if prying that rubber upper mount cap off was the most time consuming step of the whole process. Mine looked like it was glued on.

I love this video you are very detailed, the camera quality is great, and now I feel confident on doing this for my 2008 Hyundai Accent GLS Sedan so now a 20 year old can save some money. You just got yourself a new #subscriber!

Wow, this video couldn't have been posted any later or I would've brought my car to a mechanic. All I needed was a replace the rear shock in my 2010 Elantra I just bought.. and all the tutorials I see are for front struts or for models before 07 or after 2010.. gonna give this a shot next week

Anyone else struggling with removing the rubber boot thing: I don't know if mine were different (2008 elantra sport) but they DO remove fully. It seems the rubber is glued to some metal/plastic ring, and it's this ring that comes off. You don't need to be tearing off rubber. My first one came out easily, but not the second one. You need to push it around it's sides/play with it so that it gets unstuck.

Great video! My bump stop/dust cover is loose/sliding down the shock absorber shaft and making noise. Wondering where to get replacement bump stops/covers?

and while driving over bumps you can hear a loud clunky sound in back....if lots of weight in trunk the loud clunking sound is a lot less

Will this be similar for a 2008 Hyundai Sonata?

If anyone could help I tore my rubber piece up top and now its just a hole for the socket to go through, is it gonna affect it since its bolted to the car?

I'm going to assume it is the rear shock that is causing my car to look like I have a heavy load in the trunk..? One side sits higher then the other. I will replace both sides.. thanks for the video

I have an issue with my Elantra HD. The rear suspension had all its bushings replaced, the end links were replaced and shocks (genuine) replaced. Immediately I noticed the ride at the rear was very stiff to a point that it doesn't really compress. A month later about 600 miles, the shocks were softer but I noticed knocking sounds when going over rough surfaced roads or bumps. Went back to workshop to tighten up every nut, checked rear brake calipers and pins were all good without play, but the knocking noise still present. Could the absorbers be faulty hence emitting knocking sound?

Unfortunately the part you said was “fun” to replace I believe is what I’m going to have to do. 🤦‍♂️
