The UCI Cycling Esports World Championships is back for its third year, and the 2023 event has all the makings to be the best edition yet. It will take place on Zwift’s brand new Scotland map, with an overhauled format featuring three races - The Punch, The Climb and The Podium - to determine the winner. This new format looks fantastic. Seems a good way to give different types of rider a chance, rather than, say, climbers not having a chance to shine in a mostly flat race. The elimination race at the end will be brutal. Can't wait!

How do calibrate the riders? Is there a jury tat makes shure that whight and hight are correct? Otherwise its a joke. Please fill me in thanks

I like the new format, but I can’t help but feel like it’s going to go by too fast.. eliminating more than 2/3 of the field after 15 minutes? Eliminating riders every half of a lap in the 3rd event? Why not half the field in round one? Why not only one per lap in the final? There are other road events happening the same day, I get it. But for this to be a world championship event, and basically the only real UCI esports event, I want it to be longer, more attritional.

Calling a zwift race a “twisty city crit” is absurd. Do watts go to zero in the corners so your pedals don’t clip the pavement??
