World First! Bike Flip On A Moving Train

Not content with being the first person to ride a bike on a moving train and jump between carriages, Dawid Godziek wanted to throw down some world first mountain bike tricks as well. With his brother Szymon he built a special MTB course on top of 10 freight trucks and tested it out before hitching the carriages to a moving locomotive 🚂

For him to end the run by hopping off the train and land on the train track crossing was perfect! Red Bull's marketing is on point. They barely show any product. They focus on showing the world how they give you wings. It's a masterclass of branding, product, marketing, skill, and true entertainment all in one piece and they do this over and over. Remarkable!

I'm sure I'm not the only one imagined doing this, while starring out the window during family road trips. I use to imagine taking jumps on my BMX bike, to pass the time, since we didn't have hand held video games. We had magnetic chess at best. I love using the PC keyboard hotkeys to adjust the speed of YT videos instantly for actions shots such as these. Well done! I love seeing childhood dreams manifest.

I love that the final attempt is just one long continuous shot. No cuts or edits and a perfect example of relative velocity. Can see it being used in Physics classes!

This is an awesome visualization of relative Motion in Multiple Frames

From the perspective of someone inside the train:
- The train appears stationary
- The cyclist is moving backwards relative to the train

From the perspective of an observer on the ground:
- The train is moving forward
- The cyclist appears stationary relative to the ground.

From the cyclist's perspective:
- They are moving backwards relative to the train
- The ground appears to be moving backwards
