A simple way of securing your Virtual Machines running as guests inside Proxmox using a pfSense VM running on the same physical Proxmox server.

I've also done some routing performance testing of the virtualized pfSense and I've come to some very interesting results! Stick to the end of the video the check them out!

Omg! I've been working for 2 weeks trying to get pfsense workable on my proxmox. I rent a vps with one public IP and for the life of me, following dozens of tutorials, trying openVswitch, using nftables instead of iptables...ETC! Using the same bridge for pfsense was never mentioned and never occurred to me. I want to have my public IP the only wan interface and the lan for any and all other networks, but I think your solution is what I'm going to have to accept.
You need to make more videos, you're quite knowledgeable!

I'm currently trying to make a pfsense vm in an old laptop. Seeing that you are running it with only 2 cores is impressive. Hopefully my machine can handle the configuration but i also wanted to verify with you what (Hash algorithm) option do you use when uploading the pfsense setup file through the ISO image in proxmox?

Excellent tutorial I am going through this now to secure my network better. Do you have best practices for transitioning from a flat network to a more sophisticated layout with trunks?
