I loved this presentation!!! I liked the way that Dr. McDougall is candid and brave enough to speak the truth to people, to tell them exactly what they need to change to improve their health.

I changed my diet a while back. Only whole foods, nothing processed, baked my own breads, made my own pastas from carefully chosen flours etc and no refined or processed carbs. Started eating much less meat (not zero), as I chose only organic pasture raised meat on occasions, and changed most of my protein intake to pulses etc. My inflammation shot up and I put on so much weight. I tried this for 3 years, after which I switched to low carb high fat (still only eating the same meat, but adding more eggs) and I've never been healthier. I have issues with candida which probably explains it. I don't believe that this approach is appropriate for many people.

It's hard to decide what to believe as there are interesting and valid points on both sides. Some carbs are necessary, but it is hard to accept that a carb full diet is good for us. Everyhting I have learned leads to the opposite. Definitely enjoyed thie talk. Thank you!

Hello Sarah and Matt, I listened to Dr. McDougall just after listening to your 10 episodes on the benefits of a plant based diet, which was a wealth of knowledge. The only thing that was not mentioned was the benefits or the non benefits of eating rice. After listening to Dr. McDougall, my concern on rice was addressed. Thanks very much!

Sarah and Matt ! You both are great with looking for interesting people to talk. I just can’t believe how much of different information come from all doctors, based on research.

There are carbohydrates also in plants and they are healthy. The ketogenic diet has also some merits if followed for short periods. Nothing is "black or white".

excellent presentation so sensible and straightforward. Yes I too will be looking into resources. very balanced.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating as we say. Going towards 80 and enjoying a full life isn't that what we all want?
He has had some hard battles to overcome but surely that is where a real appreciation of the miracle of life comes from.
Thanks for this. Keep up the food work.

Heath span? Longevity on the starch diet? Show research on this important aspect of diet . Does the doctor feel that the Mediterranean diet and the Okinawan diets are wrong? may be it just the video quality but Dr Mcdougall is only 74. Doesn't he appear older? or am I mistaken?

How we can go on high carbs diet if most plants are GMO and sprayed with the pesticides?
Good interview but I’m not convinced 🤷🏻‍♀️

Please have nutritionist Jeanne Rubin feom Eastwest Healing, and other experts in pro-metabolic space... on for interviews.
Your listeners will appreciate it.
Elimination diets can be helpful in the short term, however, our goal should be to repair the body to the point where we can benefit from the nutrition of all foods.
Unfortunately, Dr. McDougall is missing a few pieces of the nutrition puzzle and its obvious from looking at him that he has very little muscle mass and his skin is very wrinkled.
Most kids eat dairy & have their tonsils.
Yes...its good to hear the shift from low carb which is just a bandaid, I found out from experience...we all need brain fuel in the form of glucose...so much so our bodies will make it from protein, however, its a huge cost to our body via the stress hormone back up system.

Cholesterol is GOOD for you. Even the AMA has admitted that it is NOT responsible for heart disease (see "The Cholesterol Myth"). I'm not arguing that the way you eat works for you, but you lost me.

Well, I had heard about Dr McDougall's research and had much respect for his work in the field. I had not heard Dr McDougall on a live interview before.

But this interview was hard to listen to because of his aggressive tone. At points, I felt uncomfortable by the way he spoke to you both and this unfortunately diluted the important message that for health we should focus on the quality of food and keep it close to its natural state rather than focus on the macros debate of modern diet culture.
