Because of the harsh climate in Yakutia, in most of the rural areas there are no water treatment facilities, and pipes freeze during the long winter, making ice from the lake the main source of drinking water...

Brings about a whole new level of respect for access to water. Thank you for sharing this with the world.

I've been complaining a lot about my life lately since all I do is basically study all day everyday including week ends. I really thought my life was hard, but when I see what obstacles people have to face just to be able to do things that I take for granted in other countries, I truly realize that my life isn't that hard and I should be more grateful of it haha

Thank you for your videos, they allow me to see the world in a bigger picture ( if that makes any sense ) and relativize about my small problems !

This hardwork is a nice bonding for the family that makes their relationship strong. Less distractions from the outside world. When life is easier and convenient, most men found themselves succumb in bad things like gambling, womanizing, alcohol and drug addiction that leads to marriage troubles. GOD bless Yakutz. Thänks a lot Kiun for showing us your lifestyle. Greetings from Belle in the Philippines.

Thank you so much for these! They are so informative and allow me to build a bigger picture about how life is around the world compared to the little corner I’ve always been apart of. This culture shows me that there are people out there who depend on one another and work as a community rather than an individual!

I love all that you share about Yakutia and appreciate the hard lifestyle. We need to appreciate just how easy some of us have it. I was without water for two weeks due to a leak. Not freezing but had to haul it. A pain! I also love the sound of your voice and accent. I find it very soothing and comforting. Prayers to all Yakutian's that their winter is safe and they are well.

Hello All at Yakutia, I've always fancied myself as a bit of a self sufficient 'mountain man' living out in the back woods of northern Canada. but after watching this, boy have I changed my mind!!

I sometimes even melt the snow in my area and use it to water my plants! All the idea comes to you! Thank you for making me save my water! ❤️

I have so much respect for people living in such harsh environments! We should appreciate easy access to water and warmth more. I would never survive in this cold, I would die from an illness and depression within weeks 😂 I get sick when it gets below 10°C here already and there’s wind blowing when I don’t have a scarf on and the cold makes me almost depressed every year. They’re so strong! 🙌🏻

It's a tough matter for the family to mine for water like this on a regular basis . We appreciate kiun and her team for fixing this video, braving weather, power shortage issues and health compromises . I hope you and the family filmed are benefited from this video . 💜

Watching this from southern Finland where temps can reach about -30 but it `s pretty rare and usually happens for a couple days per winter but -20 is more common specially in the mornings. Knowing what that feels like I don`t even want to imagine what it feels like to regularily have DOUBLE that or even more!

Who needs the discovery channel? We’ve got Kiun B! THANK YOU for this content. I live in Texas and this is so fascinating and heartwarming to see the families of multiple generations living, working, and loving each other company, even in these times where in these big cities our children have lost sight of this kind of life.
