The best handheld I have owned. This is evolutionary of graphic hardware potential. It blew my mind of its sizeable library and backwards compatibility. Senran Kagura got its start here too.

The 3ds left so many memories for me man, I actually bought another one recently to homebrew and download all of the games I used to have for free, I loaded it with over 100 games all worth 40 bucks lmaoo

Back in 2017-18 I was picking up every limited edition 3ds and game that looked interesting. During that time the 3ds was so undervalued and I could easily find new systems for under $100. I still play a couple dozen hours a month of 3ds games according to the activity log and only recently completed my backlog. Just a killer system filled with unique experiences and the eshop/virtual console is filled with gems.

4:05 Don't forget to mention that the 3DS has an Arm 7 processor, meaning it can play GBA games natively (only if you hack it and install them with CFW, for that go here: 3ds.hacks.guide ) What you want to do after you have CFW is:

1: Put in the SD or Micro SD card into your PC
2: Navigate to the CIAs file
3: Install any GBA ROM you want
5: Click download links and choose the first one
6: Open it after installation
7: Follow the instructions included on the site listed on step 4
8: Put the converted CIA into the CIAs folder
9: Put the SD/Micro SD card back into your 3DS
10: Go to FBI, select SD, then CIAs then the ROM you installed, then Install. (I recommend keeping it on there, as all the stuff is stored in the SD, unless you have DSiWare installed, which I'll tell you how to install in a later update on this very comment. If you have DSiWare, definitely keep it on the SD card, because if something happens to the 3DS the SD can still be salvaged and put into a different 3DS model.)

It’s official; the 3DS is now discontinued. I was so glad I got an original 3DS back in July of this year, and now I am even more. For me, some of the greatest memories are yet to come.

As far as modding goes I think the 3DS is a no brainer/must be modded system. Really easy to do and the firmware gives you a lot of cool things you can do in Pokemon/Zelda games that can be from quality of life all the way too save editing. A lot of fun stuff in there and really easy to do.

When talking about Fire Emblem on the 3DS you forgot to mention FE Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. And if we‘re including DS games (which I think you did with some other franchises) there‘s also FE Shadow Dragon :)

I have the original black 3DS and I treat it like a son along with my Switch.
I also modded my 3DS and I can play japanese games I owned.

The original 2DS with a case is my preferred way of playing 3DS games.

The screens are great, the system is incredibly comfortable to hold, the stylus placement is logical and makes sense, it's super affordable and is just a great system.

If I must get a New 3DS system, I'd stick to the original New 3DS (not the XL one), as it is compact, customizable and the screen size makes the games look amazingly sharp, among other things.

when i was younger i got myself a red 3ds for christmas and i absolutely loved that thing. i had it with me everywhere and it was a huge comfort during a lot of sad times. unfortunately we moved and i lost it but i just recently bought myself a black 3ds xl, , , time to recreate some memories.

I love the 3ds. It has excellent first party games and indie titles. Modded it can do nes, snes, gb, gbc, gba, ds, and 3ds without issue. It can play every handheld zelda, oot, and mm. You can also install rom hacks of your favorite retro games. It is just so good!
