The Brown Box isn't just for vintage amps, it's also good for more modern valve amps as the Brown Box helps preserve your tubes life span and all the other analogue parts such as transformers within the amp itself et al... Mine has just arrived (UK version). Just letting the box acclimatize to room temp as I do with all new electronic equipment I buy b4 I use it. In the meantime I'm watching all things Brown Box ont' YooToob.

Excellent demo and review. I'm looking into getting one of these because I have a couple of 60's tube amps and I live in a rural area where excess grid voltage can cause real trouble. I've seen sustained outlet voltages near 130 with spikes over 138. Tubes cooked, etc. This will help to protect the old amps.

What does he mean by "Sag'? I heard matching the voltage to your amp saves your power tube life, so that's why I'm watching this video. But like he said, it's probably more of a "Feel" thing. I have a Mesa Boogie Mark II from the 80s.. not sure if that is considered a vintage amp or not, but would be interested to hear and feel any tonal differences.

Hey Eric! I have to admit I'm not huge into vintage style amps, however, I didn't know about the voltage difference!

Btw!! I got myself a TREX Crunchy Frog, and Holy Shit that pedal really gives me that mid drive I've been wanting from my metal rig. And with the added boost function I finally have that lead switch I was lacking before. Keep these vids coming!

I'm surprise the input range doesn't go higher. I have seen the wall plug voltage as high as 135 volts if the building has 208 3 phase power
