I have one and they are a terrific tool if your mains voltage varies. I use it for an older amp that needs lower voltage and with newer amps to get the mains to 120vac (US wall voltage). It’s also important to note that valve heaters work best at 6.3v. Too high a mains voltage can run the heaters near or past the max spec for the valve and cause early failure.

Also remember tube amps are like living/breathing things and they will sound different when fully warmed up. And of course our ears change all the time too. And the atmospheric pressure, and on and on. Good idea of taking the wall voltage out of the equation though. Very well done video, and love both of your playing. 😎

Great device! To my ears: 225 V sounded best! What is the best Voltage for Tone King Imperial MKII? Thanks!

Can you run more than one thing off it? Eg two amps & pedal board?

I could be wrong but voltage does not blow fuses it is the current.

My version allows me to plug in two amps. Not sure if that is still an option on these versions. But that’s a ‘game changer’ for me

I’m a bedroom player through a fender blues delux, is it worth getting one?

Grazie

But what does it sound like when powering a Modeler and FRFR?

Do you no longer need step down transformers if you have a brown box?

You can do the same thing with a Variac and a cheap multimeter for much less...and you can even raise the voltage if the grid voltage is too low, which is not the case here!

you should played a e or a and drove the notes a bit to hear the different. you never play a guitar solo the same. the video is great. if you would have strum some chords this would have really dazzled.
