Cool! I just started a new job with a company that does most of the concrete work in our town. Dream job for me. We're going to be pouring some stairs this week, it will be the first time for me.

WOW, you did a fantastic job of explaining what and why you did what you did. Have no idea what a job like that should cost, but they got their moneys worth in a correct install.

I'm getting ready to form a set like this for the first time (my finisher will do the pour), this is pretty much exactly how he told me to form them...except he wants me to rip the riser board on a 45° so he can get his float under the board easier. Thanks for the video, this helps me a lot!!

with the "trusty venerable tape measure", you guys placed and finished an excellent set of steps. we've worked in close clearance jobs and they are not easy.
very professional.

I've seen so many stairs done wrong (and had to fix). It's pleasing to see a proper job!

Enjoyed it. I've done that, made them in 1/8 inch short left them one piece so they strip easy.

David, I just found your channel and like your presentation of real professional work. Shows how you get the quality work that you hold out for others to see. The people in your area are fortunate to have you there. Also noted no mess when you are done with the project. You and your team are a credit to your trade. John in Pensacola

This was the video I was looking for! I have a set of stairs I'm wanting to resurface with new concrete and was planning on using rebar to fix it to the old stairs! This confirmed it's possible!

I spent the summer when I was 17 putting foundations in with my grandpa. Talk about back breaking work. 3/4" thick wood form panels soaked with 20 years worth of diesel. Even finishing the concrete was much harder than I imagined. I learned a lot, but most importantly I learned that I didn't want a career in concrete. Kudos to you for doing this work. I am surprised you did all this just to accomadate the meter though. It would have been far cheaper for the homeowner to relocate the meter.
