Liked that you made the slab 8” thick, and poured a 4500 psi mix. That will make for a strong pad to handle any car lift. No joints, and an epoxy finish surface, makes for a very clean looking floor. Also I know if it’s a Garage, I like to slope the concrete floor out towards the garage doors, but that requires stem walls needed at
All sides and to block out for garage doors, and lower 1” below garage slab, offset helps in keeping out the elements. From coming in from underneath the garage door weatherstripping.
It’s after all my years of building
I still try to improve on my skills,
To find out what works, and what doesn’t, I still try to learn something new everyday watching thèse construction videos. 70 years old now, and still learning, but now starting to forget…😊

The high speed video and narration are the right formula, very good. As a 40yr. general I want to show friends and family your work and say”this is how hard work and experience come together to create technical and artistic beauty”.

As a newly graduated civil engineer, and avid fan of this channel for the last few months, your videos are extremely helpful to learn the real ins and outs of how this stuff is actually done on the job. Keep up the awesome work!

That was pleasant to watch. Nothing wrong with doing more than what was asked for. Just protects you down the road. Nice looking job and great video!

Wow! I didn't know concrete took that much work. Very professional, including the video production quality. Nice.

Appreciate the general concepts. A non contractor homeowner watching to get an idea of what is involved in something like is underpinning? But for those in the know, this seems super helpful. Lots of specs and numbers put out really fast. Wish I understood more.

Very thorough job. Nice work. I did commercial work as a concrete formwork carpenter for eighteen years. The pour crew never poured any concrete without vibrating it, so I'm not used to seeing concrete poured and finished this way. Nice job, though, for sure. Great attention to detail.

Hi Dave great video you guys do a lot more manual work than we do in UK over here we would do 2 things different. 1.For the car lift we would make a frame for the car lift pads and mark on the shuttering centres for the pads and mark on slab before shuttering is removed. 2. With a slab this size we put in an expansion joint. Well done I hope you enjoyed a few beers after.

Would make a great T-shirt.
