I’ll just keep plodding around in my 1971 Bentely T1, 6.75 liter, no mot needed, no tax needed, cheap classic vehicle insurance and possibly ulez exempt (I haven’t checked that one), it’s my equivalent of a politicians private jet, waiting for them to opt for a carbon neutral electric private jet 🤔, i wont hold my breath.

Electric vehicles with their additional weight, the creation and maintenance of the infrastructure required and the manufacture of batteries will result in no less harm to the planet than whatever harm is being done to it by petrol and diesel powered cars. We are being sold a pup.

I pull a caravan and just completed a journey to Spain from Scotland. What good is an electric vehicle for this style of travel. In any case our grid could not stand a significant rise in ownership of these cars. They draw up to 70 kw. That’s around 25 electric kettles. Good for cities that’s all.

There is a lot of things that make an electric car a non-starter for a lot of people, most people in fact. They don't make a lot of sense on many levels, not least because the premise they are being forced on us is a lie in the first place.

Why is it that when you talk about electric vehicles there is no mention about the armed forces - aircraft engines, aircraft carrier engines, main battle tank engines etc? Not a sausage has been mentioned about these aspects by Government Ministers.

A black cab driver was on talk radio yesterday, saying the battery life is 5 years and will cost him £20k to replace it 🙈

In five years time we will be seeing just how good the batteries are in EV's. Especially the used market. We shall also see how well replacement and recycling goes. On top of that how affordable new EV's are and how easy it is to charge them. Taxation will also be in place by then. The demand will most likely nosedive. But then we will probably have a a Labour government blaming the Tories for all of the issues we will face.
