I love advice like this. Keeps me in business

Never leave the engine resting on the service bracket continuously, it puts too much stress on the drive. They sell a chrome tube that slips over the trim ram rods, rest the engine on that instead.

Keep those rams coated with a light film of proper grease as well!

Some engines, if you keep trimming down om the kickstand you will break it. Merc ams for example

Hello I am yamaha/mercury technician. Those tabs are for working on the trim to lock it in place when a ram is removed. They will break off

As long as I’ve been around boats, and I’ve never once considered that as an option. Great idea and thanks.

I’m an outboard mechanic. This IS NOT a good idea! Damage to your outboard will occur. Best to lower your engine while in water so the secondaries are retracted into their housings.

DO NOT use that latch to hold motor up while trailering it’ll bust that latch right off its only for maintenance

Another good tip is to place one of those foam style beer Koozies over the trim motor housing if it not a plastic housing also apply some grease on it before covering. My commercial boat sits on the saltwater inter coastal in Florida 9 months a year and is still on the same trim motor that is 14 years old.
Yamaha of course

That's the best thing I heard this year! Thank you!

The rams are more than likely 316 stainless. Not likely to have any issues other than dirt but if you're leaving your boat that long without use, you probably shouldn't have one.

We had a 94 Yamaha 150 that had that lock, that was the standard procedure. The tilt piston would also retract, not just the trim pistons.

FYI that support bracket is for maintenance and storage, not for transport, like most people use it..

This guy should be making shorts on how to get air out of your power trim system and then make another short on how to fill your power trim. Because he needs to do both! His pump is screaming for help!!

Love your channel. There are no videos on the internet showing someone replacing the hub on a Suzuki Water Grip prop. You're supposed to be able to do it on the water.

Keep the rods lubed, those kick stands are just a backup and is soft af, they'll snap through the first pothole
